When babies start solid foods, milk is still really important. 🌱

First foods are offered alongside breastmilk or formula, not instead of it. Milk continues to provide most of the energy and nutrients babies need in the early stages of weaning.
Starting with simple, soft foods and small tastes can help babies explore new flavours and textures at their own pace, while continuing with their usual milk feeds.

There’s no rush and no pressure. Every baby is unique, and discovering food takes time. 💚

Not sure when to start solids? You’re not alone. 💚

Babies may be ready to try solid foods when they can:
👀 Sitting up and able to hold their head steadily
🤲 Eyes, hands and mouth coordination - able to look at food, pick it up with their hands and bring it to their mouths
😋 They can move food to the back of their mouth and swallow it

Responsive feeding can help make this stage feel calmer and more positive. It’s about watching your baby’s cues and responding with kindness — letting them decide whether to eat and how much, without pressure.
