The Border Hunt The Border Hunt is of very old standing. For more than 130 years, as far back as records go, the Hunt enjoyed a long family connection.

Hounds belonged to the Robson and the Dodd families during that period. In 1951 Jacob Robson resigned the Mastership an The Border Hunt adheres to the law as it stands both in England and in Scotland.

Welcome to The Border Hunt The breathtaking Border Hunt country stretches from the Rede in the south to Jedburgh in the north. Hill and open moorland which straddles the Scottish/English border, mostly heather and white grass with in-bye around Otterburn and Bellingham. Good open galloping country with few jumps but plenty of drains. A horse with good feet, a mind that can read soft going and the stamina to climb the hills and cover the country is needed. Adjacent Hunts are the North Tyne, Haydon, Tynedale, Morpeth, College Valley and North Northumberland, West Percy, Liddesdale, Jed Forest and the Duke of Buccleuch's

Our Story

The Border Hunt is run by a committee under the joint mastership of Michael Hedley MFH and Thomas Scott MFH. Hounds are kennelled at Redesmouth, and the border country stretches from the River Rede in the South up to the Kale in the scottish Borders.

Famous for the huge country, high hills and wonderful viewing.
