"Hug on a Tray" is so named because every patient on the Haematology wards freely receive a tray with everything they and their visiting families and friends need to make a drink and snack, this comes in the form of a "goodie bag" which is refilled on request, there is a kettle provided in the rooms for this use. FREE TV has been provided in wards J88 & J89 for the past five years since 2016 at a
cost of £26,400 a year, we have just paid for all of 2022. All this free provision comes from a group of 'not so young!' Girls from Otley who tirelessly fundraise to make this possible. We strive to bring a little bit of comfort to all patients, before covid we visited almost daily to give out "Hugs" to anyone who needed one, both patients and staff. We also provide all free drinks and snacks in J87 ambulatory ward, outpatients, and the patients hotel. We hope to continue for a long time to come, but just now because of the covid situation, after paying out for another full year of TV for two wards, not being able to fundraise, our funds are depleted, so we are asking if anyone could possibly make a small donation towards the "Hug on a Tray" appeal, that would be so appreciated. We are a small community group, not a big charity, not connected to any NHS funding. We have a PayPal account with a link attached to this page. Hugonatray.org
Thank you so much for reading this, we love what we do and the wonderful people we meet and we will continue to strive to continue as long as possible. Sending love, hugs and blessings, from the Girls.
