Living On Bereavement Service

Living On Bereavement Service Living On supports bereaved children and their families in the Orpington area. These groups are available from eight months after your loss.

Our aim is to bring children, young people and families together in order to support one another during their grief to alleviate the isolation and loneliness that walks hand in hand with grief. We provide two services:

Grief groups

The aim of the groups are to bring families together who have all been bereaved. We all meet in the same place but during the evening we will split into three groups:

children, young people and adults in order to work age appropriately. During the groups we look at difficult feelings, collecting memories, sharing stories and discovering ways to deal with our grief. After the groups have finished we will run regular family events in order to remember our loved ones and continue the friendships and bonds made in the groups. Buddying service

You can self refer to us or a health or education professional can refer a family when someone has JUST lost a loved one. We will connect the family with one of our specially trained buddy’s who will be there to support the family during the first 12 months of their bereavement. We will be able to offer, telephone, email and face to face advice and support on how to talk to your child about the death you have experienced and how then to prepare for a funeral and the living on after that.

Our next Dad’s Group is Thursday 4th June.
Arrival is from 7:45pm for an 8pm start and finishing by 9:30pm.

This is an open drop in group - you don’t have to come every month, you can come to any month that you are able. It’s run by a male facilitator and space for all bereaved dads who have a school aged child/ren; you do not have to have a child being supported by Living On.
