What about now?

What about now? 💚 What About Now? You’re not alone. Let’s make a change, together.

is a mental health charity born from lived experience — offering support, understanding, and hope to those navigating life after psychiatric care. Many people who have supported me so far know who I am, for those who don't I am Elle Ward. Before becoming ill I worked as a secondary school teacher, I'm a mum to Archie and I suffer with a mental illness. For so long I suffered in silence, embarrasse

d and ashamed of the way I was feeling. Eventually I was admitted to a psychiatric ward after a serious su***de attempt, it was here that I saw first hand the seriousness of the mental health crisis in the UK. This was only highlighted when I was discharged and had to fight to get the help I so desperately needed.

We’re so excited to share that Chatty Corner is back 💬

Join us for our relaunch on Wednesday 15th April at 12:30pm at The Maxwell, just outside Orpington Station — easily accessible by bus routes with plenty of nearby parking.

Chatty Corner is a safe, welcoming space where you can simply be. Each week will include a different therapeutic activity, alongside open conversation in a supportive environment.

These sessions are open to:
- Anyone struggling with their mental health
- Those supporting a loved one
- Or anyone who just needs a bit of companionship

You don’t have to have the right words. You don’t have to explain everything. You can just come as you are.

We would absolutely love to see you there 💛

Exciting times ahead for What About Now? 💙

We’re so pleased to share that we’ve secured multiple locations for the relaunch of Chatty Corner!

Each session will be a relaxed, safe space for open conversation—somewhere you can come as you are and feel heard. Alongside this, there will be gentle activities such as crafting, journaling, or writing, giving you the chance to connect, reflect, and take a moment for yourself.

We can’t wait to share more details with you soon… this is just the beginning.

Stay tuned ✨

Hi all,

I’m currently looking to secure some welcoming and accessible locations for upcoming support groups in the Orpington, Bromley, and Sidcup areas.

Each session will run for around 1–2 hours and will be open to anyone who feels they could benefit from a safe, supportive space. Alongside open conversation, each group will include a gentle activity such as crafting, journaling, or something similar—offering both connection and a chance to unwind.

These sessions are designed to bring people together—whether you’re navigating your own mental health challenges or supporting a loved one. The aim is simple: to create a space where you can feel heard, understood, and not alone.

If you know of any venues or would be open to collaborating, please feel free to reach out. Your support in helping make this happen would mean a lot.

Thank you 💙

🎙️ New Episode Out Now – What About Now?

We talk a lot about healing…
but not enough about what comes after.

What happens when you’ve done the work,
you’ve walked away,
you’ve rebuilt yourself…
and you still have moments?

This episode is about being healed…
but still being human.

Because healing isn’t about never feeling it again—
it’s about feeling it,
and still choosing yourself anyway.
