Last week PBDS Theatre Kids took part in The Greatest Showman summer school.

Throughout the week we explored the powerful message that everyone is different, everyone belongs, and that resilience, determination and hard work help us all shine.

Our young performers:
• Visited the costume store and chose their own outfits
• Planned and created their own stage make-up
• Learned about the important role of Front of House by welcoming our guests, showing them to their seats, and preparing popcorn and refreshments
• Finished the week with a fantastic performance for their families, which was a huge success

A huge thank you to Balloon Bar Studio for generously donating the beautiful balloon arches that made our performance space feel extra special.

We are so proud of everyone who took part for their confidence, creativity and teamwork.

What a brilliant week!

We’re looking for a few friendly faces to help run the bar at our productions and events. No previous experience is needed, just a smile, enthusiasm and a willingness to help.

It’s a brilliant way to meet new people, support local theatre and play an important part in making every PBDS event a success.

Dear Parents and Carers,

We are delighted to announce that bookings are now open for the PBDS Theatre Kids Greatest Showman Summer School 2026!

Join us for an exciting week of singing, dancing, acting and theatre magic inspired by The Greatest Showman. It's the perfect opportunity for young performers to build confidence, make new friends and develop their performance skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Summer School Details

📍 Location:
All Souls Church, Rushmore Hill, Pratts Bottom

📅 Dates:
Monday 27th July – Friday 31st July 2026

⏰ Times:
9:30am – 3:00pm each day

👧 Age Range:
School Years 1–7

Young people aged 13+ are also invited to join us as Youth Helpers, Dance Captains or Assistant Leaders, gaining valuable leadership experience while supporting the younger performers.

Throughout the week, children will enjoy:

Singing, dancing and acting workshops
Circus skills sessions
Stage makeup experiences
Confidence-building activities and teamwork
Learning songs inspired by The Greatest Showman
The week will conclude with a special performance for family and friends on Friday at 2:30pm, giving everyone the chance to showcase everything they've learned.

Prices (per week):

£135 per child
£125 per week for siblings

We are absolutely delighted with the recognition received at yesterday's Kent Drama Association Awards.
