What an incredible weekend our scouts had at the joint Erne and Errigal County Shield in Irvinestown!
The level of skill and teamwork on display from both counties was truly outstanding. From building campsites and preparing meals to lighting fires, tackling challenges, and entertaining everyone with fantastic campfire skits—it was an impressive and inspiring sight throughout.
The sunshine made it all the more special, creating the perfect setting for a brilliant scouting experience.
A big thank you to Damien and Adrian for leading the way, and to all the scouters and ventures who contributed to such a successful and memorable weekend!

4th Tyrone Scouts enjoyed providing water, jelly beans and plenty of encouragement to the runners who took part in the Omagh Half Marathon today. The weather may not have been ideal, but hopefully we helped spur you all on through those final miles! 💪🏃‍♂️
A big thank you to Amy from 1st Omagh Scout Group who joined us and helped out at the water station. It was great to see the two scout groups in the town coming together to support such a well-run event for the community. 👏

Our Cubs had a great day meeting up with other Cub groups from across Erne County in Enniskillen.
They took part in a wide range of fun and practical Scout activities including fire lighting 🔥, outdoor cooking 🍳, first aid ⛑️, knot tying, woggle making, water rockets 🚀 and plenty of Scout games. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends, and enjoy the adventure of Scouting together.
A great day was had by all! 😊
A big thank you to 1st/2nd/3rd Fermanagh for hosting and organising such a brilliant event.

☘️ A huge thank you to all our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and their families who joined 4th Tyrone in the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Omagh today!
It was a fantastic family event filled with great spirit and community. Even the rain couldn’t dampen the fun or the smiles! 🌧️😊
We’re so proud to see everyone representing our group so well. Thanks to all who came out to take part and support the parade.

Our Scouts had a fantastic day in Gortin Glens Forest Park practising their skills for the upcoming joint Erne County Shield and Errigal County Shield. 🌲🔥
Working together as a team — and completely independent of leader help — they successfully erected an Icelandic patrol tent, built an altar fire, and cooked a hot meal over their fire. All this while their leaders sat back and enjoyed some very rare March sunshine! ☀️⛺
Well done to our Scouts — they’ve come so far in just a few short weeks. We’re really looking forward to the County Shield! 👏

Our Beavers and Cubs had a great evening with Order of Malta learning valuable life skills. 🚑

They had the chance to learn CPR, how to sling an injured arm, and even got to see inside an ambulance. It was a fantastic hands-on experience and a great opportunity to learn important first aid skills.

A big thank you to St John Ambulance for taking the time to visit and teach our young people these important skills!

The Cubs had an excellent night helping Enniskillen-based artist John Kelly paint and decorate musical props that they will carry when they take part in Omagh’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade next week. 🪉🎻🪈🪕

The props are looking fantastic – they’ll look even better in the parade!! Make sure to come along and enjoy the family friendly festivities in the town and see them in person next Tuesday at 3pm! ☘️

A big thank you to Terena Conlan from FODC for organising this great opportunity for our Cubs.

🌟 A Busy Weekend for 4th Tyrone Scout Group! 🌟

It was all go this weekend across all our sections!

On Friday night, our Beaver section kicked things off with a brilliant sleepover in the clubrooms at Drumragh GAC. A huge thank you to them for hosting us! 🙌

The Beavers enjoyed a torchlit nighttime hike, followed by a campfire where they toasted marshmallows and sang their favourite campfire songs. Indoors, they showed off their artistic skills before nestling down for the night in their tents. Our youngest section certainly set the bar high for the rest of the group! 🦫🔥

On Saturday, with the sun shining for the first time in weeks ☀️, it was the turn of the Cubs and Scouts to head off for a one-night residential at the fabulous Gortin Outdoor Activity Centre – such a fantastic facility right on our doorstep! A big thank you to the team there! 👏

The Cubs had a packed programme including team-building games, backwoods cooking over an open fire, practising their pioneering skills to build a bridge over a stream, and taking part in a nightline.

Our Scout section practised important skills ahead of the upcoming Erne County Shield – including pitching and striking an Icelandic patrol tent, preparing an altar fire, and learning how to safely chop and prepare firewood. 🪓⛺

The highlight of the camp was the campfire, where we sang together, enjoyed the hilarious skits the Cubs had prepared, and of course tucked into some delicious s’mores. 🔥🎶

A very special thank you to Mark and Gerry, who gave up both nights of their birthday weekend to help run these activities for our youth members.

Well done to all our young people and leaders for such a memorable weekend of adventure, teamwork and fun!

The 4th Tyrone Scouters had a fantastic evening at the Erne County Celebration — a wonderful opportunity to catch up and socialise with fellow scouters from across the county.

We are incredibly proud to share that many of our scouters received service awards in recognition of their dedication and commitment to the group over the years.

👏 10 Year Service Award
• Jason Devine

👏 5 Year Service Awards
• Sean Sharkey
• Jane White
• Teresa Wilson

👏 2 Year Service Awards
• Diarmuid Kelly
• Claire Sharkey
• Mark Allen

A very special mention goes to Jane, who also received a Bronze Meritorious Award. These awards are presented sparingly and are reserved for scouters who truly go above and beyond in their efforts and commitment. What an incredible achievement — bravo Jane!

And bravo to all our 4th Tyrone scouters. Your time, energy and dedication have helped shape our group into what it is today.

Thank you all! 💚
