The Olney Group

The Olney Group (TOG) is a non-profit group run by a few local people who value the village-like community of Olney and support it by putting on events.

The Olney Group (TOG) is a small independent group of local people who value the village-like community of Olney and support it by putting on two events for the town each year. These events, Olney Raft Race and Olney Fireworks, have become ingrained in Olney's calendar and help to make living here a great experience. We're a non-profit group run by volunteers. If you'd like to meet more people in

Olney, and would enjoy working together in a fun environment to facilitate these events, please get in touch. We're always looking for volunteer helpers who can assist with organisation, event promotion, setting up events, marshalling and so on. The ethos of the group is to 'Support Unity in the Community'. To this end, we not only put on events of our own but we also encourage others to bring their stalls to our events. We're particularly keen on promoting local businesses and charities where possible.

🎈 CHILDREN'S SHOWTIME IS BACK! 🎈

Looking for something to keep the children entertained during Olney Riverfest?

Join us on Saturday 4th July at 4pm for a fantastic Children's Showtime featuring comedy ventriloquist and magician David Tomkins, a Gold Star Member of The Magic Circle.

Some of you may even remember David from his performances at the Olney Floral Fiesta over the years.

Perfect for children aged 3-10, the show is packed with laughter, magic, audience participation and plenty of fun.

🛶 RAFT TEAMS & PADDLEBOARDERS WANTED! 🏄

Think you've got what it takes?

The Olney Riverfest Raft Race returns on Sunday 5th July 2026 and we're looking for teams ready to take on the challenge.

Build a homemade raft, gather your crew and race down the River Great Ouse in one of Riverfest's most entertaining events.

Not into raft building? Then why not enter our Paddleboard Race and put your balance, stamina and speed to the test?

We've seen some incredible creations over the years, from themed rafts and fancy dress crews to some truly imaginative engineering!

Olney Fireworks 2025 is nearly here! This is a popular event and, to avoid disappointment, we recommend you buy your tickets online in advance. If we are not sold out online, tickets will be available on the gate, sold on a first come, first served basis and will be withdrawn from sale once we have reached audience capacity.

We’ve already started planning our next event which is the Fabulous Family Fireworks on Nov 2nd but in the mean time there’s plenty of family entertainment going on locally. It’s a lovely sunny Sunday so why not ‘hop’ over to visit Peter Rabbit and friends at the The Arches Theatre in Clifton Reynes?

The sun may not have come out for us until it was time to say goodbye for another year, but thank you to all our visitors, craft and food stalls, Scouts and rafters, support boat and divers and not forgetting our team of volunteers that supported this event, without you this event couldn't have happened.
