🐣 Happy Sunday everyone!🐥
Today is the launch of our amazing Easter raffle. We are fundraising to buy another incubator for our animal hospital; providing vital care for our young and most injured patients.

We have 7 AMAZING PRIZES to give away, including 3 Easter hampers!
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated Easter eggs; it is hugely appreciated!🙏

🥇First prize -cellophane wrapped hamper with cuddly toy lamb.
🥈Second prize-cellophane wrapped hamper with teddy bear.
🥉Third prize-cellophane wrapped hamper with small rabbit cuddly toy.
🏅Fourth prize - 1 large, 1 medium and 2 small Easter eggs, plus Creme Eggs.
🏅Firth prize -1 large, 1 medium and 2 small Easter eggs, plus a soft toy.
🏅Sixth prize -2 large and 1 small egg, plus a wooden rabbit decoration.
🏅Seventh prize - 1 large and 3 small eggs.

Raffle tickets are £1 per number - Enter as many times are you like, you will get a different number every entry.

We will draw the raffle on Saturday 4th April (last entries at 12pm), using an online number generator and share the winners via a Facebook post. Prizes can then be collected from the rescue.

⭐️ We need your help to fundraise! ⭐️
❓Did you know that it costs £500 a week to feed, house and medicate our animals?

One of the easiest ways to help us raise money is by signing up to EasyFundraising.
Used by 8000+ retailers, it is completely free and hassle free. When you sign up, please search for our charity name -as written below. All you then need to do is shop online as normal. When you use a participating website, a little message will pop up, asking if you would like to use the purchase to make a donation. This is at NO cost to you, and comes directly from the retailer. If every one of our 2,000 followers signed up, it would make a huge difference to our rescue.

⭐️ NAME THE FRIENDLY PIGEON ⭐️

Nicknamed ‘Friendly Pigeon’ by our volunteers, this Feral Pigeon walked into someone’s house and didn’t want to leave. He has clearly had a home before but sadly, it could not be traced.
He is extremely affectionate; always at our heels or standing on our heads: dancing and strutting.

Now he needs a proper name, and we would love you to enter your suggestions.

ℹ️ Pigeon facts… ℹ️ℹ️ℹ️ℹ️ℹ️ℹ️ℹ️ℹ️
We have two types of pigeon in the UK, the Wood pigeon and the Feral Pigeon.

🐦 Often overlooked and misunderstood, urban (feral) pigeons are actually descendants of wild doves and belong to the same bird family.

🌱Pigeons are highly social birds, usually seen in pairs or gathering in loose flocks. They feed on seeds, buds, berries and small invertebrates, but will also make use of food scraps they find on the ground — showing just how adaptable they are.

🐦 💞 🐦 One of the most heart-warming facts about pigeons is that they mate for life and stay together all year round. Their pair bonds are strong and loyal.

🪞 Despite being labelled as pests, pigeons are incredibly intelligent creatures. They can recognise themselves in reflections — a rare ability in the animal world — proving they are far more complex than many people realise.

🥇 During WW1 and WW11, pigeons carried vital military messages and many were awarded for their services to saving countless human lives. 🇬🇧
