Scam Warning – Fraudulent Phone Calls
Dear Members,
We would like to make you aware that OPHDA Association has received reports of individuals receiving suspicious phone calls from the following number:

Please be advised that this number is not associated with OPHDA Association, and we believe these calls may be part of a scam attempt.
We would like to remind all members that OPHDA Association will never contact you by telephone, email, or message to request sensitive personal information, including:
Bank account or card details
Online banking passwords
Security codes or PIN numbers
Copies of personal identification documents
Any other confidential financial information
If you receive a call from this number, or from any individual claiming to represent OPHDA and requesting personal details, please:
Do not provide any information.
End the call immediately.
Report the incident to OPHDA Association.
If you believe you may have shared information, contact your bank and relevant authorities without delay.
We encourage all members to remain vigilant and exercise caution when receiving unsolicited calls.
Should you have any concerns or wish to verify any communication claiming to be from OPHDA Association, please contact us directly through our official channels.

Do NOT remove your official “Private Hire Vehicle – Not insured unless pre-booked” stickers!
Under Oldham Council Licensing Policy, these must be clearly displayed on all licensed vehicles at all times. Removing them is a breach of requirements and may lead to enforcement action.

Warning Notice – ICO Dash Cam Registration

Important for All Taxi, Private Hire & Business Drivers

If you use a dash cam as part of your work — including taxis, rideshare, delivery, or fleet driving — you must register with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and pay the required data protection fee. This is a legal requirement, as dash cams process personal data (such as faces, number plates, and locations) when used for business.

✅ Exemption: Personal or domestic use only is exempt — but any commercial or work-related use requires compliance.
