✨ Today we launch our new brand! ✨

POPS has always stood for families – and our refreshed identity and new website are here to reflect that more clearly than ever.

Over the coming weeks, you’ll start to see our new look across our website, leaflets, social media and in our visitor centres. Please know that while our appearance is changing, the heart of what we do remains the same. We are still here to support you and your family, just as we always have.

Our rebrand is about making it easier for families to feel connected, informed, and supported. It honours our history while showing the breadth of what we do today—supporting families both inside and outside the justice system, creating spaces where lived experience is heard, and making sure families feel valued and empowered.

We’re also excited to share our new website...

We would love to hear your feedback on the new brand via our quick 4 question survey:

POPS isn’t an acronym anymore. POPS stands for families.

The ‘Creating Community Connections Project’ is a Domestic Abuse (DA) Services pilot, sponsored by HMPPS and led by Women in Prison working in partnership with a number of women’s centre providers, Anawim, Together Women and The Nelson Trust.

The Link Worker role being recruited will be responsible for the provision of 1-2-1 advocacy and structured support to women with a history of/current experience of domestic abuse currently residing in HMP Styal.

*** International Women's Day ***

Women attending our centre this week have received a gift of a Success Journal to record their reflections each day. Journalling can help improve emotional awareness, reduce stress and promote problem-solving abilities.

We are also delighted to now have a selection of weighted blankets at the centre which can help ease symptoms of anxiety and stress and help those with ADHD focus by reducing restlessness. If you are visiting and would like to use one whilst you are with us please ask a member of staff.

*** Celebrating International Women's Day with our creativity! ***

Today the women created art based on what is important to them. Creative arts are a fantastic way to connect with some of areas of our lives which may be hard to talk about and to express them in safe ways.

- The 'three stars' painting symbolises the client's children with the words 'time's a healer' for how the client feels about a situation at the moment. There's also a butterfly symbolising her self-growth.
- The 'keep positive' painting is by a client who understands the need for positivity as she faces some tough hurdles.
- The other two pictures are about summer and the clients love of being out in the sunny weather with the people they love.

Thanks to all the women who took part in our session today!

*** International Women's Day and a week of wellbeing! ***

Yesterday the team and visitors to the centre took part in complimentary hand massages with essential oils courtesy of our volunteer therapist!

This week in advance of International Women's Day we have a range of activities designed to promote the wellbeing of the women we work with from relaxation sessions to practical hands on help such as completing those forms you might have been putting off!
