People quite often ask us, “What’s Round Table actually all about?”

Well, these pictures probably explain it better than we ever could!

They’re just a few of the things we’ve got up to this year — without costing a fortune or breaking the bank.

At the end of the day, we’re just a good bunch of lads who meet up every fortnight, have a laugh, try something different and make some great memories. Every now and then the families come along too, and somewhere amongst all the fun, we manage to do a bit of good for our local community as well.

One fortnight it might be gorge walking, coasteering or clay pigeon shooting… the next it’s deciding on a Friday night that building a soapbox for a race the following day sounds like a brilliant idea! 😂

Then turning up the next morning, still finishing it off, paint barely dry, before throwing ourselves down a hill in it and hoping for the best! 🤣🏁

That’s Round Table for us.

Good mates. Good laughs. New experiences. Family. Community… and usually a few questionable ideas along the way! 😂🍻

We’re always looking for new members aged 18–45 to join us for socials, activities, nights out and, most importantly, to have a good time while supporting our local community.

🎉 Fantastic news for Okehampton! 🎉

Ladies, ladies, ladies… you’ve been asking us — “Is there something like Round Table for the ladies?”

Well… here it is! 🙌🥂

We’re absolutely delighted to see Okehampton Ladies Circle restarting! ❤️

Over the years, we’ve had plenty of ladies asking us if there’s a local group where they can enjoy the same sort of things we do at Round Table — making new friends, having great nights out, trying something different, getting involved in the community and raising money for brilliant local causes.

So it’s fantastic to see Ladies Circle coming back to Okehampton!

From all of us at Okehampton District Round Table 944, we wish the ladies behind getting it restarted every success. You’ll certainly have our support, and we’re looking forward to hopefully joining forces for some great social events, fundraising and community projects in the future.

Last night we all ventured into John's field for some river fishing...

As you can probably tell they were not biting at all so we all went exploring around a viking village, followed by a bbq & a nice couple of cold ones surrounded by great friends 🧡 if you are aged between 18 - 45 and want to get out, meet some great friends, have some fun & raise money for local charity's then feel free to give us a message to find out about our next event

Weekend the 26th of June

☀️🏕️ Think Round Table is just for men? Think again! 🏕️☀️

It's a common misconception that Round Table is all about blokes meeting in the pub. While we do enjoy our men-only social evenings, we're equally passionate about involving partners, children, families, and friends in what we do.

Our upcoming Area 19 Camping & Family Weekend at Roadford Lake is the perfect example of that.

With temperatures currently forecast to reach around 30°C, it's shaping up to be an incredible weekend packed with:

🛶 Paddle boards and kayaks
🌲 Woodland trails and outdoor activities
🔥 BBQs and great food
🍻 A few cold drinks and plenty of laughs
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family games and activities for all ages
🏕️ Camping in a beautiful lakeside setting

Can't make the whole weekend? No problem at all. Come along for a few hours, spend a day with us, join us for an evening BBQ, or simply pop by for a chat and see what Round Table is all about.

We're also proud to be supporting local ladies who are looking to restart Ladies Circle in the area. So whether you're interested in Round Table, Ladies Circle, or simply want to meet some friendly local people, we'd love to welcome you.

This weekend isn't just for existing members – it's for anyone who wants to find out more, make new friends, get involved in their community, and have a great time doing it.

🚴‍♂️🌤️ A little bit of rain, a lot of laughs! 🌤️🚴‍♂️

Last night the lads headed from Okehampton down the Granite Way to the Fox & Hounds, taking in some cracking views along the way.

We had a bit of Devon drizzle, a bit of sunshine, plenty of banter, and a couple of well-earned stops at the Bearslake Inn and Fox & Hounds for food and refreshments. 🍻🍔

A huge thank you to Adventure Okehampton for sorting the bike hire and helping make the evening happen. 🚲

And finally, a massive congratulations to Lucy and Dan on the arrival of their beautiful baby girl! 👶💖

Good mates, good views, good pubs. Just another evening with Round Table.

Right… the weather’s decided to be a bit of a diva this Wednesday 😅
Cold temps + dodgy wind = wakeboarding is OFF ❌

BUT… we’re still on for a sick evening 💪

💥 OPTION 1:
Blast out on the fast RIBs down to Teignmouth
– Full send across the water 🌊
– Chance to take the helm for a cheeky minute 😎
– Pit stop for a cold beer 🍺
– Then hammer it back to Exmouth

🍻 OPTION 2:
Cruise the Exe River
– Multiple chilled stops
– Few beers along the way
– More relaxed vibes, still a top evening 👌

🧥 IMPORTANT:
Wrap up warm & bring waterproofs – it’s gonna be fresh out there!

Either way… it’s gonna be a proper laugh 🤙

What an absolutely incredible day for our community ❤️

Okehampton District Round Table 944 are extremely proud to have been involved in supporting the Hatherleigh skatepark clean-up this weekend alongside such an amazing group of local people, businesses, families, and volunteers.

Days like this prove that Hatherleigh still has that brilliant community spirit — when something needs doing, people simply turn up and get stuck in. From pressure washing and scrubbing ramps, to supplying equipment, fuel, water, food, and plenty of laughs along the way, the support has honestly been unbelievable.

A special thank you must also go to everybody who helped organise the day, especially those who pushed to get the project moving so quickly. Without that motivation and community backing, this clean-up simply would not have happened this fast.

The numbers alone show the scale of the effort:
💧 Over 10,000 litres of water used
🧪 Around 65 litres of cleaning fluid
⛽ Roughly 40 litres of fuel just to run the pressure washers
🌭 Countless hot dogs and cups of tea consumed!

The skatepark is already looking massively better, but this is only the beginning. The next stages will include painting, repairs, and continuing to improve the area for everybody who uses it.

Thank you again to every single person who came down to help, whether for ten minutes or the whole day. Hatherleigh should be proud of itself. ❤️🛹🔥
