Roadworks between Lochaline and Drimnin start today until 29 May 2026. Roadworks are 9am-6pm daily, with 30 minute amnesties at 1100, 1330 & 1600.

⛔️ Temporary Road Closure
🚧 B849 Drimnin Road & U1305 Keil Branch Road, Lochaline
📅 Between 9.00am – 6.00pm, 21 May until 26 May 2026 (excluding the weekend).

Regular amnesties will be in place during the closure to allow traffic through the road as no diversion is possible on the B849.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused and thank the local community for their patience.

MCDC are delighted to announce that construction has started on the Lochaline affordable housing project to deliver 14 two and three bedroom family homes. The project will be on site for 12 month and we hope to welcome new tenants in the summer of 2027. David Stewart, TSL Pre-Construction Director, commented “TSL are delighted to have been awarded the contract for the construction of 14nr high quality, energy efficient homes, and look forward to working closely with MCDC in delivering this key project for the community”
