π¬π§ Did You Know? What the Royal British Legion Does for Nottinghamshire
At the Nottinghamshire County AGM held on Saturday 31st January, we heard just how much the Royal British Legion has supported our local Armed Forces community over the past year.
The numbers speak for themselves:
In Nottinghamshire alone (Oct 2024 β Sep 2025):
π· Β£90,077 awarded in grants to 152 local people
This support included:
π Β£13,119 for housing
βΏ Β£17,273 for mobility equipment
π§ Β£15,568 for white goods (washing machines, fridges, etc.)
πΊ Β£16,765 for brown goods (TVs, computers, etc.)
π Β£3,742 in crisis support
π³ Β£5,291 for debt relief
β±οΈ Β£5,114 for funeral costs
π₯ Β£4,484 for medical needs
The average age of those helped? Just 52 years old β a reminder that veteransβ needs donβt just affect older generations.
Nottinghamshire Poppy Appeal:
