Grab the chance to help protect your local waterways with the Big Paddle Clean Up 2026!

Between May 23rd and June 7th our friends at Paddle UK are encouraging as many people as possible to head out and spend time caring for the waterways in their area.

Whether you're an individual, group of friends, or a paddling club, you can grab your litter picker and make a difference. You can even invite your local MP to join you!

Take part on the water or from the bank...just be sure to take part!

There are lots of online resources and advice available on the Paddle UK website, including information on how to contact your local MP, to help you plan and carry out your litter pick.

We heard a rumour there's a little reward from sponsors Decathlon UK for those who take part too 🀫 πŸ˜‰

We love receiving feedback on how our funding has made a difference!πŸ’™

In Summer 2025 the Paddle Trust (formerly Canoe Foundation) awarded Β£7,500 to provide a new jetty on Lough Henney - approx. 5 acres of lake used by various water based activities including water skiing, canoeing, paddleboarding, kayaking, and swimming.

The new jetty was designed to accommodate all users who access and use the water, with a lower platform at one side to facilitate the launch and retrieval of canoes, paddleboards and kayaks.

Thanks to the new jetty, the future is looking bright for Lough Henney and its users!πŸ›ΆπŸ’¦
