We're chuffed to be back at the Castle Beer Festival again this year coming to you this Friday & Saturday! Our stand, located just off the main area, will be a place where folks can chill and come for a chat. We're especially keen for women to feel welcome in the beer space - come and share tips about where the best festival brews are, find out about our Collective and the fun stuff we do. You can also pick up a pin badge - sponsored by the amazing Aimee from The Barrel Drop

This year we're partnering with Safe Space Notts, an initiative which empowers venues to create safe environments free from harassment and violence. We'll have info about how to find accredited Safe Space venues around the City. There will also be volunteers at our stand who've been Safe Space trained, ready to provide support and assistance - anyone can feel vulnerable in busy, bustling places, but you don't need to feel alone. The No Half Measures Collective stand will be the place to be!

No Half Measures is Nottinghams' only women's beer group, featuring over 100 members who regularly meet up, drink beer and support some of Nottingham's finest establishments and breweries in the process - we'll cheers to that! 🍻🤩

This year's International Women's Collaboration Brew Day has been pretty darn special for us.

The brewday back in January saw 30+ of us join Liquid Light Brewing Company and Jaega Wise to brew up Zing, Boom a 4.3% vegan-friendly, juicy, vibrant, single hop Dolcita pale ale, made possible with the support of Crisp Malt Charles Faram & Co Ltd and WHC Lab. The beer has been getting fantastic reviews and it's been ace to see it pouring all over the country.

International Women's Day saw even more of us descend on the Liquid Light Brew Co Tap Room for an incredible party celebrating the collaboration and all the amazing women who make Nottingham's beer scene a great place to be. Sending a massive thanks to Aimee Harbison-Roper from The Barrel Drop, Thom from Liquid Light and Jaega Wise for pulling everything all together. Plus the fabulous Foxton Presents for bringing and to the party.

Our fund-raising tombola had a fabulous array of prizes and together with the very generous donation of £800 by Liquid Light brewery resulted in an amazing total of £1607 raised for Central Women's Aid.

Last week we presented the final amount to Eva, Deputy Lead at Central Women's Aid. Eva was absolutely thrilled with the donation and said it will ‘go directly towards meeting the needs of women and children fleeing violence and abuse. This amount can provide a month of accommodation for a family including items such as food, clothing and toiletries. Many women arrive with only the clothes they have on and so being able to provide items is essential’

International Women's Collaboration Brew Day has a fantastic impact, not just on women in brewing and beer, but also supporting women's causes which currently attract a tiny amount of charitable giving. Here's to next year 🍻

We can't wait to be back at Liquid Light Taproom for International Women's Day this Sunday! As well as tasty beer (thawes Jaega Wise & Liquid Light Brew Co) , fabulous bands (thanks Foxton Presents) and delicious pizza (thanks Da Vinci's Dough), a BIG focus of the day will be raising funds for Central Women's Aid 🙌💪😊

The event is free to attend, with donations encouraged on the door and a MEGA prize draw to take part in 🙌

And oh my, there are some AMAZING prizes to be won - you won't want to miss out! Beer festival tickets, brewery tours, beautiful artworks, theatre tickets and lots of beer and brewery merch.

So it's a huge thanks to all those contributing prizes and helping to ensure women in Nottingham have a safe refuge when they need it.

Brew day! Thanks to Everards for inviting us to brew for International Women's Collaboration Brew Day and Crisp Malt for providing the malt! We got to meet some fab women who run Everards pubs (now we need to talk them into digging out!). Aylestone Black-Horse , The Queen Victoria Public House, The Brown Cow, The Hearty Goodfellow.

💪🍻🤩 What a day!! Around 40 women converged on Liquid Light Brewing Company to join us and Jaega Wise for our International Women's Day brew! And what a beautiful sight that was - we got hands on in the brewhouse, challenged our senses to identify New Zealand hops (that was very hard!) and tasted some delicious beers. We brewed a 4.3% hazy pale ale, hopped with the brand new hop Dolcita, to be called Zing, Boom 💥 🎶

Come along again to Liquid Light Brew Co Tap Room on - Sun 8th March - when we launch the beer at a fundraiser for Central Women's Aid - bands, pizza, beer and more! Check back for more deets coming soon.....
