Nottingham-based dancers (aged 50+) - newcomers always welcome.

We dance together (summer 2026 pay-as-you-go classes on certain Tuesdays at Fabric 10.30-12.00), and separately develop contemporary pieces to perform in local community settings.

Love to dance? Aged 50+? Just a few placeseft!

On Thursday 24 September (1-3pm at St Jude's, Mapperley) we'll start working on our new project, a screendance, Dance & the City.

We will be working with Karla Jones, and the project is supported by a grant from Nottingham City Council's Cultural Investment Fund.

There will be 7 sessions, including 2 where we'll be filming out and about in Nottingham city centre. The other 5 will either be at St Jude's or Fabric.

Because of the grant, we can offer this at £70 for the 7 sessions. There's separately the chance to be part of crowd scenes (filming in 11 November).

Message us or email [email protected] for more info.

Over the last few months at Sky Mirror, we've developed wellbeing workshops to take out into the community. This has been an amazing experience and well received. We have worked with participants at organisations such as 'Reach' Mansfield, Southwell and Newark, and 'Dance for Parkinsons' West Bridgford.

Thanks to our two choreographers Kayla Dougan Bowtell and Siobhan Hayes. Also to Jo Petch for her organisational skills, and Karla Jones and Movement for All for the training and practice sessions. Finally, none of this would have been possible without the support of Nottinghamshire County Council (through their Local Communities Fund).
