Dance in a Day workshops are back for 2026! 🥳
Join dancers 50+ at FABRIC Nottingham on Tuesday 31st March 10am - 3pm for a whole day of dance!
We'll start the morning with a release based contemporary class and move on to choreographing and creating our own dance during the afternoon🤗.

Booking is now open for our next creative project. After Christmas, we'll be working with Siobhan Hayes to create a new piece that will have flexibility to be used in different ways (and by different numbers of participants).
If you'd like to join us, it can either be for the 6 weeks creative side, or you can take it further when we go out to community groups with shorter extracts. We may also use the full piece for future performances (as we have done in the past).

SCHEDULE:
- Core 6 weeks: Monday 12 January to 23 February (no session on 16 Feb); 10.30-13.00 at Nottingham Playhouse.
- Rehearsals: Tuesday 3 & 10 March; 13.00-15.30 at Fabric (Dakeyne St, Nottingham NG3 2AR).

Cost £60 (for all 6 weeks, including the 2 rehearsals if you decide to continue). Bursaries may be available if cost is an issue - email us to discuss in confidence.

We’re on the lookout for Freelance Dance Practitioners!

Here at Phoenix Dance Theatre, we work with a wide pool of freelance dance artists across our Learning and Development provisions.

As part of our commitment to providing opportunities to local dance artists and teachers in the North, we’re always keen to hear from people who would like to work with us and help to deliver our classes, workshops, and outreach activity.

There's still space on our autumn Creative Project starting Mon 8 September (10.30-13.00) and taking place on the following 5 Mondays.

We'll be working with Kayla Dougan-Bowtell to create a piece that we can perform at the Generate Festival (27/11) and out in the community. If you'd like to give us a try, but are not sure about performing, fear not - that side is not obligatory!

Workshops take place at Nottingham Playhouse.

Cost £60 (for the 6 weeks).

It's not too late to sign up for the next Sky Mirror creative project. Over 6 weeks (starting Mon 8 September 10.30-13.00), we'll be working with Kayla Dougan-Bowtell to create a new piece. The sessions will take place at Nottingham Playhouse. The total cost of the 6 sessions is £60 (as we've received support from Notts CC).

There will then be the opportunity to perform the piece at the Generate Festival on 27 November at Fabric. We will also be taking it out to community settings in the future, using extracts from the longer piece. To facilitate this, there will be two rehearsal sessions on the afternoons of 11 and 25 November at Fabric (at no extra charge).

NB the performance side is not mandatory, if you'd just like to join us for the 6 Monday sessions.
