There’s been rumors, and now it’s been officially announced, the legendary Major Oak has died. 🌳
So many of us have amazing memories of visiting Sherwood Forest and the Major Oak.

The Major Oak has died.
The ancient giant, the meeting place, the folklore legend, the keeper of stories. This tree has meant so many different things to so many different people.
This is news we’ve all been expecting as we’ve watched it coming to the end of its life, but it is no less sad now that it’s confirmed and the hope of new leaves is gone.
Many of us grew up under that tree, on family walks, school trips and adventures in the forest; it has been part of our lives for as long as we can remember.
We’re reflecting on what this majestic tree has meant to us, the memories we hold, and the old photos we’re looking back on.
