About Host Nottingham
HOST Nottingham has grown from a partnership of the leading refugee agencies working in Nottingham. Our aim is to provide a referral into accommodation for destitute asylum seekers.
We request hosts to provide basic accommodation for a destitute asylum seeker from a week to three months. Once a client has a fresh claim which they can submit to the Home Office, they can be eligible for basic housing provided by G4S through the Home Office. The Nottingham Arimathea Trust is able to house a some destitute asylum seekers in their houses, which are for the most vulnerable clients.
Advocacy is another key area of our work. Without our help many clients would have no access to health care or solicitors. We work with other agencies to help clients access healthcare and legal representation. HOST Nottingham is also actively involved with awareness raising and campaigning for a just asylum system.
