Sikh Community and Youth Services (SCYS) is a registered charity established since 1988 in which members of the community identified gaps in service provisions and take up of mainstream services by the Asian/Sikh Community in Nottingham. Over the years SCYS has varied in level and nature of services provided in accordance with changing times and local/national needs of the community.

The amount raised will be shared 50% to Khalsa Punjabi School (£5,688.48), 40% BBC Children in Need (£4,550.79) and 10% to the Marfan Trust (£1,137.70)

🛡️ 4-Week Crash Course on Personal Safety for Sikh Women 🛡️

In light of the recent tragic incident in Oldbury, Kaurnect, in collaboration with SCYS, is committed to supporting Sikh women with the tools, awareness, and confidence to help protect themselves.

This 4-week crash course is aimed at Sikh women aged 16+ and will cover:
✔️ 📝 Practical safety advice
✔️ 🤲 Techniques to disengage from physical encounters
✔️ 💪 Confidence-building strategies

📍 Venue: Monty Hind Youth Club, NG7 2LX
📅 Starts: Friday 3rd October
🕖 Time: 7:00 – 8:30pm

👧 Childcare available – at the SCYS Youth club childcare is provided for just £2 per child. Activities include ⚽ football, 🏸 badminton, 🎨 colouring, 🎱 pool, 🤸 soft play, and more – offering a safe and fun space for children while you take part.

✨ No prior experience is needed – please wear 👟 comfortable footwear and 👕 clothing suitable for physical activity.

🌸 This is a safe space for Sikh women to come together as sisters, learn valuable skills, and uplift one another. 🌸
