Great news!

Emmanuel House Support Centre is delighted to announce the appointment of Isabella Harriss as its new Chief Executive, from 5th November 2025, following the retirement of CEO Denis Tully.

Isabella joins Emmanuel House from the national homelessness charity Housing Justice, where she served as Programme Director. With a career rooted in homelessness and drug and alcohol recovery support, Isabella played a crucial role in coordinating emergency accommodation services across the UK in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“With rough sleeping sadly reaching new highs and the wider homelessness crisis affecting thousands of people in Nottingham, we know that there is a huge need for the vital services that Emmanuel House offers,” said Isabella.

“Building on Denis’ incredible legacy of hard work and compassion, it is the privilege of my life to lead Emmanuel House. The root causes of homelessness and rough sleeping are complex, but hope, kindness and love are central to a person’s recovery – and that is what we will continue to offer."

This week we are celebrating the arrival of not just one but two tenants as a mum in one of our family houses gave birth to twins! 🎉 to all the mums in our houses doing an incredible job in often difficult circumstances we see you!

Today we are celebrating our tenants who have found work. We currently have 8 tenants either in work or about to start with another tenant with a promising interview this week. We’ve also had a tenant who has recently moved on with his family start an apprenticeship last week.

This week one of our Empowerment worker’s Phill tried to visit a house to support the tenants but all three tenants were out at work. For once we didn’t mind having to rearrange!

We’re so proud of each of these tenants for working towards and achieving their goals and the hard work that this has taken

We love move in days here at Hope into Action! Today the Notts team are celebrating a second move in to their newest house for homeless women which we are delighted is now fully occupied.
Also a massive thank you to the church small group from Trent Vineyard who dedicated time in the heat on Saturday to clearing the garden and making it ready. Our tenant is already excited about what she can plant!
As she looked round her new home the tenant shared how it reminded her of the house she had lost and how she believed God was restoring things to her. Such a privilege to get to be part of that restoration.
