Four successful Volunteer Network Meetings completed over the past few weeks. All well attended by our Volunteers with an interesting and useful presentation this term about Reluctant Readers. There was plenty of opportunity too to catch up with fellow Volunteers and the LV team over a cuppa and pick up resources. Thanks to everyone who came.

Another great fundraising evening at Bromley House Library with our corporate community. A fascinating talk and tour for guests at one of Nottingham’s hidden gems. Thanks to our patron Jacob Dunne for an impactful and inspiring speech to our guests and promoting Literacy Volunteers. Also thanks to Matt Dolman and the Bromley team and their volunteer for another really enjoyable and informative evening. Many thanks to those who attended to support the charity.

Half term is the perfect time to press pause and open a good book together. 💫

1️⃣ Let children choose what they read.
2️⃣ Read aloud and share your favourite bits.
3️⃣ End the day with a cosy bedtime story.

Because reading together makes memories that last far beyond the holidays. 💛

🌿 Sometimes 10 minutes of reading is all you need to reset.

Join us and the National Literacy Trust this Friday, 10 October for on World Mental Health Day. At 10am, we’re encouraging everyone to pause, breathe, and enjoy 10 minutes of reading.

Reading helps us relax, lift our mood, and escape the pressures of daily life. When adults read for pleasure, children are more likely to do the same - creating a ripple effect that supports wellbeing and learning for generations to come.
