Spring is in the air at Elton with the beautiful cowslips flowering! It's been another busy week for our wonderful volunteers who have been clearing hedge cuttings, fitting new door handles, planting oak saplings and checking all our activity instructions. What an amazing bunch they are!

Our amazing team of volunteers have been busy at Elton today. Clearing brambles, burning and then enjoying a lovely well deserved lunch in the sunshine outside Magpies Nest. Thank you for all your efforts in keeping Elton looking beautiful for visitors!

So far, we have raised £207.25 for Elton by recycling ink cartridges. We have a recycling box in the Magpies Nest and when it's full they are posted off for free. Let us know if you would like to have your own box at home or in your office or just bring the cartridges when you come to camp. It doesn't cost us anything and recycling is better than dumping

1st Radcliffe Rainbows had a super time at Elton tonight. The sun was shining and our rainbows enjoyed grass sledging, the bird rubbing trail, using the circus skills equipment and an ice lolly in the shade of the lovely trees!

Bookings are now open for the Have Adventures Day at Elton on Saturday 27 September 2025!

Aimed at Guides and Rangers, the day will centre around earning the Camp Level 4 Skills Builder and the Have Adventures Theme Award. The cost is £12 per girl and includes both badges. Just bring your lunch!

Units are welcome to put their camp skills into practice by camping over on Saturday night! Leaders should book this directly and arrange their own evening meal, Sunday breakfast and REN.

We are today's Guiding generation. Happy Thinking Day- today we think about our sisters all over the world.

We have lovely flag poles at Elton so tomorrow, thinking caps on book a stay at Elton for your unit "and see our flag on high" just like the song says.

You will have a great time making memories of fun and adventures for girls to think about on Thinking Days to come.

We had a good day at Elton today. Gillian made a fire and burned 7builders bags of cuttings gathered as we cleared scrub. On a walk round we saw the Snowdrop patrol turned out in force and the Daffodil Patrol getting ready to burst into flower.

Have you booked your unit in to enjoy Elton. There's lots to see and do.
Or volunteer with us on Tuesdays and Fridays for fresh air with friends and sometimes a smokey fire.
