📣 Opportunities for parents and carers in Nottinghamshire

We would like to let you know about two opportunities from Nottinghamshire County Council:

🤝 Parent and carer peer support group – monthly face-to-face meetings for parents and carers whose families have worked with a Nottinghamshire County Council social worker.

💬 Share your voice – an opportunity for parents and carers with experience of SEND services for ages 0–25, family hubs, children’s social care or early help to share their experiences and help shape local services.

It's Co-production Week!

During Co-production Week, Nottinghamshire Healthcare would like to thank all the patients, carers, families and colleagues who have helped shape and strengthen our approach to co-production across our services.

Working together to develop and improve services helps us better understand what matters most to the people who use them. By listening to experiences, concerns and ideas, we can work in partnership to create solutions that make a real difference.

When people with lived experience are involved as equal partners in the design, improvement and delivery of services, we create care that is more person-centred, safer and more effective. It also helps us make better use of resources and improve outcomes and experiences for the people we support.

This year's theme, Care Equity: Building Equality and Inclusion in Care Together, highlights the importance of working in equal partnership. To mark the week, our Nottinghamshire Healthcare - Get Involved (IEV) Team, alongside patients and carers, have launched a range of new tools and resources to support participation and co-production across the Trust.

📢 Mental Health Carers Co-Design Group

Do you care for a family member or friend with mental health challenges?

Join us on Tuesday 23 June, 1:00pm–3:00pm, to share your experiences and help improve information, resources and support for mental health carers across Nottinghamshire.

At this session, we'll be reviewing new resources developed following previous feedback and discussing future improvements for mental health carers.

Could your experience help someone realise they’re a carer?

We’re currently looking for carers to help shape a series of short videos about what caring can look like in real life.

Many people who support a family member or friend do not recognise themselves as carers at first. By sharing real experiences, we hope to help more people identify themselves earlier and become aware of support that may be available.

People can contribute in whichever way feels most comfortable for them, including:
• informal conversations, face-to-face or online
• written contributions via email
• short self-recorded video or audio clips

There’s no expectation for anything to feel polished or professional.
