What an evening! Tonight we were shortlisted for Community Organisation of the Year at the South Norfolk Community Awards 2026, held at the beautiful Glen Lodge in Bawburgh.To be named among such a remarkable field of community groups, volunteers and individuals from right across South Norfolk was a genuine honour.

Thank you to those who put our name forward, to South Norfolk Council, to the staff who put such care into the evening, and to the Councillors and other community leaders who were funny and engaging, shared ideas and opened doors. Some of the best conversations of the night were the unplanned ones, and we came away with new connections we are genuinely excited to follow up.

From a shed on our driveway in Easton, to building links with the very places we set out to reach two years ago, tonight felt surreal and exciting in equal measure.

Every connection made in a room becomes evidence that can change a system. That's what NCSUN is built on, and it's why our community Gatherings matter.

For the past year we've been bringing people together across Norwich, neighbours, community leaders and local services in the same room, turning what people know and live into connections that reach further and shape what comes next. Our third Gathering is the next step in that work, and we'd love you to be part of it.

Thursday 11 June 2026, 10am to 2pm at Norwich City Boxing Club (on the grounds of Open Academy).

It's a free, relaxed morning to connect with your neighbours, meet local services and groups, and find out more about what we do as a community network here in Norwich.

There'll be free light refreshments, free parking, a Children's Corner with DBS-checked volunteers so you can have a proper chat, and no speeches or pressure. Come and go as you please.

This one comes at a moment that matters. By 2028 our councils are being replaced by a new Greater Norwich authority running health, SEND, benefits and local services, and the decisions are being shaped now. If the changes have left you with questions, come along and we'll make sense of it together, and help make sure your voice is part of it.

Everyone welcome. Just walk in.

We have been so excited this week to see our very first strawberry grow (with very little help from us!) and to see the flowers our community members have helped plant, pot, take cuttings from and repot over this year, flower.

What a beautiful way to showcase the amazing work our volunteers do, simply by providing a safe space, no judgement, and simple purpose.

We’ve got some exciting news to share!!

NCSUN has been shortlisted for Community Organisation of the Year at the South Norfolk Community Awards, with the ceremony taking place on 3 July.

This recognition matters because it reflects the power of lived experience, peer support, and community‑led solutions across Norwich and South Norfolk, especially in a cost of living and mental health landscape that can feel impossible to navigate alone.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted us, shared their story, or collaborated with us so far, and to those who nominated us. You’re the reason our work exists.

We’ll share updates from the awards night and, whatever the outcome, we’ll keep doing what we do best: connecting people to support, amplifying lived experience, and pushing for systems that work better for all of us.
