Today is A Level Results Day!

To those of you heading off to university congratulations! We wish you every success in this exciting new chapter.

To those who have chosen a different path, whether that's an apprenticeship, work, college, Traveling or something else good luck on your adventure. Every path is valuable.

And to those who didn't get the grades you were hoping for, please remember this doesn't mean it's all over.

I'm Sasha, and I run this page. Eleven years ago, I was in exactly the same position. It wasn't the outcome I'd hoped for, and I had to take a different route. But I didn't give up, and I still reached my goals.

Sometimes the path changes, but the destination doesn't have to.

Keep believing in yourself, keep working hard, and don't give up on your dreams. You've got this, and we're all cheering you on.

🌞🌙 LOOK UP, BROWNIES! IT’S ECLIPSE NIGHT! 🌙🌞

Tonight, Wednesday 12 August, the Moon will pass between the Earth and the Sun, creating a spectacular solar eclipse! 🌒✨

And did you know… Brownies have a SPACE badge?! 🚀👩‍🚀

So, if your Brownies haven’t already earned theirs, tonight could be the perfect excuse to start your very own space adventure! 🌟 From learning about the Moon and stars to discovering more about our amazing universe, there’s plenty to explore.

🔭 A few out-of-this-world facts:

🌙 A solar eclipse happens when the Moon move
is between the Earth and the Sun.

☀️ Tonight’s eclipse will be partial from the UK, meaning we’ll see the Moon cover part of the Sun.

🌍 It’s a pretty special event, with this being the first total solar eclipse visible from mainland Europe since 1999!

🌌 Solar eclipses don’t happen every month because the Moon’s orbit is tilted compared with Earth’s orbit around the Sun.

👓 Most importantly: never look directly at the Sun during an eclipse without proper solar viewing glasses or an approved solar viewer!

So why not grab those binoculars (solar-safe ones, of course! 😉), look up at the sky and get your Brownies thinking about all things SPACE! 🚀✨

🌟 POACHER 2026! 🌟

Last week, some of our amazing Girlguiding Norwich members packed their bags and travelled all the way to Lincoln to volunteer at Poacher 2026! 🏕️💚

What a week it was! ☀️🔥 Very hot, very busy, and absolutely brilliant! Our incredible volunteers gave up their own time to help make the week unforgettable for thousands of young people from across the country and beyond. 💜

From getting stuck into activities and helping behind the scenes, to making new friends, supporting young people and generally throwing themselves into the Poacher spirit – our Norwich team certainly made the most of it! 🙌

And the best bit? Many of them are already hoping to be back volunteering at Poacher 2030! 👀🏕️

🌙💙 150 NIGHTS AWAY! 💛

Last night officially marked an amazing milestone for Sasha — 150 nights away! 🎉🏕️

It’s quite fitting that this milestone comes with a little bit of history too. On the final night of Poacher 2022, Sasha reached 100 nights away. Since then, over the past four years, she has completed another 50 nights away through camps, sleepovers, events and weekends away.

That’s 150 nights of adventures, new experiences, friendships, memories and opportunitie and we’re sure there are many more to come! 💙💛

But now we have to ask… how many nights away will Sasha have completed by Poacher 2030? 👀🏕️

Here’s to the next adventure! ✨

Norwich has been chosen as part of Girlguiding's brand new uniform nationwide advertising campaign – how exciting! 💙

The adverts could appear on buses, bus shelters, digital screens and other advertising displays across the city... but we don't know exactly where they'll pop up!

If you spot one, we'd love your help:

What a fantastic evening for 3rd Thorpe Rainbows at RSPB Strumpshaw Fen last week! 🌿💙

For just £4 per girl, the Rainbows enjoyed an exciting session of pond dipping and den building in the woodland. Despite the recent dry weather, they discovered an amazing variety of wildlife, including water boatmen, a water scorpion and lots of tiny fish. 🐟🪲

The girls had great fun working together to build dens using logs that were often three times their own length – teamwork at its best! 🌳🏕️

A huge thank you to our parent helpers, Crocodile and Shark, who joined in the adventure and had a brilliant time too!

🌟 A huge congratulations to 4th Norwich Brownies! 🌟

All 24 Brownies have successfully completed their Brownie Eco Award this term what an incredible achievement! 💚🌍

The girls have been busy making butterfly houses, creating bee watering stations and bird feeders, running book and toy swaps, planting sunflowers, and learning how to save water, electricity and reduce waste. 🌻🐝📚

Well done to every Brownie and a big thank you to the amazing leaders for inspiring the girls to care for the environment. Keep up the fantastic work! 👏💛

It was great to be part of the Volunteers Fair at the Forum today as part of the Kearns Foundation Small Charities Showcase.

A huge thank you to the Kearns Foundation for hosting such a fantastic event and for bringing together so many inspiring local charities, volunteers, and community organisations. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet people, share what we do, and connect with others who are passionate about making a difference.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand to chat we loved meeting you all!

🎉 On Tuesday, 13th Norwich Brownies said goodbye to five of our wonderful Brownies as they reached the end of their Brownie journey. We wish them all the very best as they move on to their next adventure. 💛

We also celebrated four amazing Brownies who achieved their Brownie Gold Award! 🌟 They have worked incredibly hard throughout their time in Brownies to earn Guiding's highest award for their section, and we are so proud of each and every one of them.

A thank you to Snowy Owl for making some beautiful, special cupcakes for the celebrations. 🧁 We also enjoyed pizza and a party to mark the occasion!

🦁💙 It wasn't the result we were hoping for, but what a journey it has been!

A huge well done to the England team for their determination, teamwork and resilience throughout the tournament. Reaching a World Cup Semi Final is an incredible achievement, and they should be proud of everything they've accomplished.

At Girlguiding Norwich, we encourage girls to celebrate their successes, but we also teach them that not winning doesn't mean you've failed. Every challenge is an opportunity to learn, grow and come back even stronger. Resilience, perseverance and supporting one another are just as important as lifting the trophy.

So today, we celebrate the effort, the teamwork and the inspiration England has given to so many young people.

Well played, England. We're proud of you. 💙⚽
