We're expanding!

Not only can we add new members to the company, but we’re also launching an associate company for younger movers.

Don’t let the word ‘audition’ put you off - both workshop auditions will consist of a fun class that includes some games, choreography and a creative task. This gives us a chance to get to know you, see how you move and also give you the opportunity to ‘test us out’ and see if it’s for you.

We meet every Wednesday (in term time) at Copperdot Studio.

Associate company: 16:30 - 18:00
Main company: 18:30 - 20:30

Associate member fees = £85 per term
Main company member fees = £100 per term

We also have 2 x fully funded scholarships for the associate company.

🎉 Exciting news! 🎉

NYDT has received a grant from the Arts Projects Fund by Norfolk County Council!

This support means we can offer 2 funded places in our company for young people who are facing financial and other life challenges, ensuring dance is accessible for all.

This snippet is from a piece called Let’s Have A Conversation, created collaboratively by Steph Townsend and ACE Dance Company in 2018.

The work explored themes around young people's mental health in the UK, using the performers’ voices, dance and exercise balls to remind us that we never truly know what someone might be carrying with them. �� The piece highlighted the value of family, friendship and kindness as well as the importance of young people being able to share their stories in safe and creative ways. ��Steph’s work often uses spoken word and props to help shape a narrative and give space to personal stories.

Launching in September - Norwich Youth Dance Theatre (NYDT)

A new, independent company for young people aged 13–18 who have prior dance experience and are passionate about developing their skills in both dance and theatre.

Key Details:
* We are looking for motivated dancers who are ready to train, create, perform and who already have some experience with dance.
* There are 16 places available for our first intake.
* Two scholarships are available for students facing financial barriers.
* NYDT is a community-based initiative, created to offer high-quality training and performance opportunities outside of formal education.
