Jane Austen Event coming soon!

Our annual Jane Austen event will be held at Cromer Hall this year by kind permission of Benje and Dido Cabbell Manners. This year’s dramatised readings will be from Austen's much-loved novel Sense and Sensibility. Cromer Hall is privately owned and was built in a variant of the Gothic Revival style in 1829 and is not usually open to the public....

Shout out to the volunteers! This is Volunteers' Week and we just want to add our massive vote of thanks to all the people who work for free, not only for charities but also for all those other things that wouldn't get sorted if these superfolk didn't step into the breach. FANTASTIC AUCTION OF PROMISES!
Holidays, jewellery, artwork, experiences… we have some mind-boggling lots on offer in our latest Auction of Promises. Join us at St Michael’s Community Hall, Reepham, on Saturday 13th June at 7pm. Before the auction itself we kick off with a captivating talk by Eddie Anderson about the joy of living in North Norfolk, which you’ll be able to enjoy with snacks (kindly donated by Mrs Temple’s Cheeses) and a glass of wine – all included in the ticket price of just £12.
Lots include:

Patient Story – Ababe

Ababe is a 60‑year‑old Orthodox Christian woman living with diabetes and breast cancer, first diagnosed six years ago. She was widowed many years ago and has since adopted four children—one preparing for university and three still in school. She has a diploma in accountancy, speaks some English, and previously worked in marketing. She lives in her own traditional house. Yummy home made teas at Stody Lodge! This Wednesday 13 May we will be providing delicious home made teas at Stody Lodge, the stunning botanical gardens in North Norfolk (NR24 2ER). All the drinks, home made cakes and goodies are sold in aid of Hospice Ethiopia. Come along and see the truly beautiful gardens and try our truly scrumptious teas!

A brilliant day for our annual cake stall in Aylsham today. Huge thanks to the helpers and bakers who made it possible… especially ace organiser and baker-rounder-upper Jill Morgan! And thanks to everyone who came and bought some of the fantastic produce our volunteers created. With everyone’s help (and cash) we raised an amazing £520+! Every penny will go to help the wonderful HE team in Ethiopia. Thanks again and big love!

Partnership with Hope Beyond International

Following our trustees’ visit to Hope Beyond International in Addis Ababa we are delighted to be establishing a new partnership with them. Hospice Ethiopia UK’s mission has always been to promote the provision of palliative care and to relive the suffering of the terminally ill in Ethiopia, and the trustees see this as a way of broadening access to people needing end-of-life care both in Addis Ababa and in some of the regional areas of Ethiopia....
