Postpartum psychosis (PP) is a severe but treatable form of mental illness. It begins suddenly in the days and weeks after having a baby. Symptoms include hallucinations and delusions, often with mania, depression or confusion. It should always be treated as a medical emergency.
The UK has a severe lack of Mother and Baby Units (MBU) to help parents recover from PP. Much of the Midlands, such as Northamptonshire, have no MBU.
On September 13th, a team of 6 will be running the entire length of Northamptonshire to raise funds for an exceptional charity, APP (Action on Postpartum Psychosis). APP provide an extraordinary, award winning support network and conduct groundbreaking research.
2 teams will be covering 60km each and finishing in Northampton, both teams starting at the furthest āWelcome to Northamptonshireā signs from the town centre.
We would be incredibly grateful if you could support us in raising funds and awareness for APP. Please cheer us on and share and like our posts. If possible, please donate! (see link below).
More needs to be done to support the remarkable work APP already do š
Thank you! š
