Mixed Network Northants – Creative Day Sessions

We’re kicking off a series of Creative Day Sessions starting at Royal & Derngate, in their rehearsal room. These sessions are for all skill levels and all about expressing our mixed-race stories and identities in creative ways.

What we talked about doing:
Photography, interviews, oral histories
Crafting, collage, sharing art or inspiration
Collaborative projects (like re-creating old paintings with mixed-race subjects)
Anything that helps us tell our stories

The vibe:
Very collaborative – not about one person leading
Bring something to share, or help lead an activity if you want
Simple, welcoming, open to everyone
Focused on meaning and connection over polished art

Venue:
Starting at Royal & Derngate rehearsal room
Other ideas: Abington Park, Delapré Abbey, The Lab, Coconut Paradise

Next date (TBC) but we are looking to have the first one towards the end of August

Hi everyone,

I wanted to make you aware that I've received information from multiple sources indicating that the EDL is planning a protest in the town center tomorrow. The demonstration is expected to take place near the NMPAT building, and is scheduled between 7-9 pm.

For your own safety, please be cautious and try to avoid this area during that time.

Our session will continue as normal next Tuesday, but in the meantime if anyone want's to chat about what's been happening over the past week, how we can respond as a community and how it makes us feel, please feel free to DM me directly

This gathering is primarily a platform for those of mixed heritage to voice their experiences, but allies are warmly welcomed to listen, learn, and support.
