361 Energy is a local charity in northern Devon.

Our goal is to create a more sustainable, fairer future where everyone can afford to keep healthy and warm in an energy-efficient home. 361 Energy CIC is a community based organisation that is working with schools, communities, corporate partners and individuals across the North Devon and Torridge areas - to reduce energy and carbon emissions. We do this by giving talks, attending community events

, running workshops, giving training, and helping individuals on a one to one basis. Our projects include Empower - fuel poverty and fuel debt advice; Energy Bike - take part in our energy bike challenge; Energy Fair - held annually; Community Renewables - getting community owned renewable installations off the ground.

During the sunny weather it's important to keep our homes cool and healthy. A few ways to help include closing curtains and blinds in the whole house during the day, and closing windows. Open windows early morning and late evening to create a draft.

Due to the conflict in the Middle East, prices of some fuels used for heating have spiked in recent weeks. Even people who have budgeted for their expected fuel costs may now be finding it hard to cope. This particularly affects households using oil or LPG for heating.
The government has made some funding available to help people in crisis as a results of this situation. If you are currently low on oil or LPG and struggling to top up due to the current price crisis, you may be able to apply for assistance.

You do NOT need to go through 361 Energy to be referred for help in this situation. You can apply directly to your local council.

361 Energy is excited to be recruiting a 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 to lead our new 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 project.
Private tenants are currently the most likely households to experience fuel poverty — and this role will play a key part in changing that. You’ll be driving forward an innovative two‑year programme to help landlords across Devon meet their obligations, improve energy efficiency, access support, reduce carbon emissions, and create warmer, healthier homes for tenants.

Help with Rising Heating Oil Costs.

The price of heating oil has been particularly impacted by the conflict in the Middle East and is currently around double the price of crude oil.

To help, the Government has announced over £50 million of funding to support low-income households in rural communities. This will be distributed through the new Crisis and Resilience Fund, which comes into effect from April, replacing the current Household Support Fund. As part of this fund, an oil fuel support scheme will launch in April. Full details will be available on our website in the coming weeks.

🔳 Household Support Fund - The current Household Support Fund continues to operate until 31 March. If you’re vulnerable or struggling with essential costs, you may still be able to access support.
