The Bay Foodbank provides emergency food provision to individuals or families across North Tyneside experiencing a financial crisis. You can be referred to us by the North Tyneside Council, DWP, Citizens Advice Bureau, Schools, Doctors, Social services and other support agencies.

Thank you to everyone that joined us Cullercoats Crescent Club last night for The Marty Craggs Band. Together we raised an incredible £2,637!

Every single penny raised will help us continue our vital work supporting people across North Tyneside and making a real difference in our local community.

This lot is expected to feed almost 90 people for 5 or more days so it's not your average weekly shop. It's what we give out in one day. One day!

We are one of the largest independent foodbanks in the country covering the whole of North Tyneside. For the first time we thought we'd collect a days worth of food, pet food, toiletries, cleaning products etc. into one place. We were shocked seeing it all together. Guesstimated weight 733kg - yes we did lug it about for the photo then put it back 💪

Harvest donations are great and top up the shelves as demand increases into winter. Over the course of the year we buy about 90% of the stock we give out, keeping long life topped up and buying fresh and perishable goods every week. If you're thinking of supporting a charity this year either personally or though work we can make your money go a lot further and your contribution will literally put food on the table of those who need it. This week, and last, we've had some fantastic donations of food from schools and churches across North Tyneside. Your generosity in helping others is a beautiful thing in a world that sometimes feels like it's forgotten how to be kind.

Donations around harvest are a great boost to our stock as winter comes crashing in with its additional heating costs for clients and our demand for support increases.

Not everyone leaves a name or the message doesn't get through so please don't be offended if we miss you off the thank you, we very much appreciate the great and often continued support from those listed and others, with more pick up's planned in for next week.

Bonfire Night can be noisy and unpredictable, so we’re opening Cedarwood straight after school to give children a calm, safe place indoors.

Join us for our Stay In and Stay Safe After‑School Bonfire Night Club on Thursday 5th November, 3.30pm till 5pm.

We’ll have:
✨ Biscuit sparkler decorating
🎨 Drawing & colouring
🧩 Lego & board games
🤸 Soft play
💛 A quiet space for anyone who needs it
☕ Free drinks & snacks for children and parents

This session is for children aged 4–11, and parents must stay.

It's National Hygiene Week.

We put these items as standard (some on request) in our parcels as well as things like tooth brushes, shampoo, hair brushes, incontinence pads on request if we have them to give. They're things we can all take for granted, but if you can't afford them in your normal shop, life becomes difficult.

Fantastic group in from Sage today. Seven Pallets!!!
We now buy in most of our food across the year, but Harvest Festival is a brilliant time when we receive lots of lovely donations from schools, community and church groups.
Our Sage volunteers helped prep the warehouse clearing away 1/2 and very mixed pallets of stock ready to start receiving donations. Couldn't of done it without your love of tiny toiletries and tinned potato persistence 😆 Thank you!

Thanks to Newcastle Building Society for coming down last week to help out with sorting the warehouse in preparation for Havvest donations. This included some Christmas toiletries sorting. We'll give out nearing 1000 parcels in December, so a bit of forward planning takes the pressure off.

We do have a few slots left for corporate sessions before Christmas. But like many things a Foodbank isn't just for Christmas and we are pretty busy January if you fancy a team day out.

If you're thinking of donating to a foodbank over this Harvest Festival, these are some of the things we put into every one of our parcels, so great to donate.

We also add fresh and perishable goods to all our parcels that we purchase using cash donations.
