🎧 We were on the radio today!

Our County Clinical Officer, Tracy, spoke on LCR FM today about how volunteering with us helps support your local communities whilst bringing you real satisfaction and pride in delivering an essential service.

We’re currently recruiting Community First Aiders (CFA) and are always growing our Youth Team, who are vital in helping young people aged 5–18 build confidence, learn life-saving skills, and support others when it matters most.

πŸ’š Make a difference in your community. Learn new skills. Make a noticeable difference.

Nurse Tracy Capuano, who is the County Clinical Officer with St John Ambulance in Lincoln, was Dave Benson’s guest on our Drive show today.

Nurse Tracy explained how their Community First Aiders are an integral part of our community through delivering community first aid and education.

St John Ambulance provide a variety of training courses including First Aid at Work, Fire Marshal, Paediatric First Aid, Basic Sports First Aid and Mental Health First Aid.

The service is looking for Community First Aider volunteers, who can commit 80 hours per year, and who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities and want to make a difference, by sharing their first aid skills and knowledge.

Nurse Tracy explained that through volunteering as a Community First Aider, you’ll get a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. She added that it’s great for you, great for your community and great for our nation, and it requires only a small commitment of your time.

πŸŽ‰πŸš‘ 2025 in North Lincolnshire

As we come to the end of 2025, we take time to reflect on an incredible year for the North Lincolnshire Network of St John Ambulance. Our volunteers have contributed over 4,900 hours covering events, alongside ongoing training and meaningful community engagement across the area.

This year has brought both joy and challenge. We have been grateful to welcome new volunteers into our network, while also feeling the loss of close friends and colleagues who have left or sadly been taken too soon from us. Through it all, our volunteers have continued to show unwavering compassion, professionalism and commitment, stepping forward whenever our communities needed them.

This Christmas, we look back with pride and gratitude at the selfless work our volunteers do, often quietly and without chasing recognition, to keep others safe.
Thank you to every volunteer who gave their time, skills and heart this year. You make a real difference, and North Lincolnshire is better because of you. πŸ’šπŸš‘

Last night was a different sort of training night for our volunteers. We were joined by some of our county leadership team to award members for their dedication and hard work. Awards were given out for volunteer hours over the last year, pure excellence and long service awards including Paul Cartwright CStJ who received his second bar in gold for an astonishing 60 years service to the order of St John.

Well done to all those who received awards, keep up the hard work! πŸ’šπŸš‘

Last week for our volunteers it was a week of reward and appreciation for their hard work.
From fundraising on the east coast to support our volunteers, covering events in our community helping people in their time of need and even looking after our younger members through our extensive youth programmes within the network.
Thank you to each and everyone of them who put tireless hours into everything they do for our network. Your hard work is recognised and massively appreciated. πŸ’š
