North Fambridge Community Access Defibrillator The village has a community access defibrillator in a coded locked cabinet which has been provided by the British Heart Foundation.

We have received funding from the British Heart Foundation to install the defibrillator for the village in a self-contained code-locked box on the outside of the village hall. The code will be logged with emergency services who will direct villagers to retrieve the defibrillator in the event that they are called. This will improve the chances of surviving cardiac arrest for anyone affected in the

village. It is hoped that villagers will be interested in learning how to save their loved ones. Simple CPR (resuscitation) and defibrillation training sessions, featuring a short video and practice with mannequins, will be provided free of charge. Anyone from the age of 12 upwards can be trained. You will receive a certificate of completion from the British Heart Foundation but more importantly should feel clearer about the action to take in the event that one of your relatives has an emergency. There is no commitment to respond to any emergencies once you have done the training. For interested parties who are unable to attend an organised training session there is a facility to loan a mannequin and the training DVD. Whole families could do the training together at home. Dates of organised CPR training sessions will be published regularly in the In Touch magazine. Please contact Emma Hancock to book a place on the training sessions: [email protected] or 01621 741542
