A reminder from BARC

Today is the last day for all Grade 1 or above Marshals to volunteer for the Goodwood Revival. Please add this event to your Alpha profile.

I didn’t want to have to write such a post but I only feel it’s right that I wrote this to update everyone on the saddened recent events. In the last month we have lost three of our marshal family, all of whom were long time marshals and friends to many that devoted their time, commitment and efforts to motorsport in all kinds of ways.

Ian Evans, a long time rally marshal, stage commander, passed away mid way through May from a brain cancer.

Dave Tasker, previously a North East committee member for numerous years, chief start-line at Cadwell Park, long standing pitlane marshal at various circuits around the UK, passed away suddenly last Wednesday evening.

Paul Leedham, a regular flag marshal at many circuits throughout the country, Donington, Cadwell, Croft and Silverstone to name a few. Paul passed away suddenly on Thursday evening.

We send our love, thoughts and prayers out to Ian, Dave and Paul’s family and friends. Many of you will have marshalled along side and maybe even with close friends with any of these people.

Please remember that if you ever need to talk to reach out, as a committee we’re all part of the Orange family and are there to support eachother no matter what you need. Any committee member can be contacted for help and support.

As you go out marshaling this weekend, wherever it may be, please keep Ian, Dave and Paul in your thoughts and remember those around you may be more sensitive than others around this matter.

It is with deepest regret to announce the passing of a fellow marshal Dave Tasker.
Dave was not only a marshal but had been a committee member covering roles such as North East Secretary and Regalia sales.
Dave was a genuine character saying things just how they are, Dave would be there to welcome any marshal to Cadwell and Harewood where he will be a massive loss.
BMMC send our deepest condolences to Lynne and their family and friends.

Yesterday a group attended the classic to modern show at croft. The event was well, Best way to put it “great for ducks”. But the team as always did an unreal job promoting what we do and how to get involved. This time we had every role covered with a cadet, a new marshal through to experienced.. the club can’t thank you all enough in what was surprisingly a busy day..

This Saturday see us with a recruitment stand at the Croft classic to modern show.

If you are free and fancy a good day out with plenty of laughs. We looking for 3 or 4 more helpers. This will give everyone time to have a look around the show.
