The Easter Bunny is on the move this Sunday 5th April and will be delivering eggs around the village! 🐇✨
🕙 Between 10:00 and 11:00.

Keep your eyes peeled, listen out for a hop or two, and be ready, you never know when he might pop by! 👀
Make sure the kids are ready with their biggest smiles (and maybe a basket too 🧺) It’s going to be a lovely little Easter surprise for the village. 💛

🕊️ North Bitchburn Remembrance Day Service 🇬🇧

Please join us on Sunday 9th November at 2PM on The Village Green for our annual Remembrance Day Service.

This is a time for our community to come together in reflection and gratitude — to honour the courage, service, and sacrifice of all those who gave their lives for our freedom.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Please gather from 1.45PM so the service can begin promptly at 2PM.

Let us stand together as a village to remember. 🌺

🔥 Important Event Update – Halloween & Bonfire Night, Saturday 1st November 🎃

Hi everyone,

A quick safety update ahead of our Halloween & Bonfire Night celebration.

In line with guidance from County Durham & Darlington Fire and Rescue Service, and to remain compliant with our insurance and event safety requirements, there will be no sparklers at this year’s event.

We’re also kindly asking everyone not to bring your own sparklers so we can keep the evening safe and enjoyable for all.

Our bonfire, fireworks display, BBQ, and Halloween activities will make sure the night still goes off with a bang – safely!

Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us run a fun, family-friendly event for the whole community.

🌻 North Bitchburn’s Tallest Sunflower Competition – Results Are In! 🌻

🌻 What a blooming brilliant community! North Bitchburn’s Tallest Sunflower Competition has wrapped up, and our judge’s tape measure has been working overtime to crown this year’s winners.

What a fantastic effort from everyone who took part! The gardens across the village have been bursting with colour, and it’s safe to say North Bitchburn gardeners know how to make sunflowers soar.

After some very close calls (and a fair bit of balancing to reach the tops), we’re delighted to announce this year’s results:

👧 Kids Competition
🥇 1st Place – Rory Todd at 8ft 🌻 (£20)
🥈 2nd Place – Rory Waistall at 6ft 11in 🌻 (£10)
🥉 3rd Place – Amelia Todd at 6ft 8in 🌻 (£5)

📸 We’ve added a photo of the 1st and 3rd place sunflowers so everyone can admire their amazing handiwork — well done, both of you!

🌻 Adults Competition
🥇 1st Place – Neil Pinkney at 8ft 8in 🌻 (£20)
🥈 2nd Place – Mac White at 7ft 🌻 (£10)
🥉 3rd Place – Dave Underwood at 6ft 3in 🌻 (£5)

A huge congratulations to all our winners and a massive thank you to everyone who took part and brought a splash of sunshine to North Bitchburn this summer. Your efforts have truly made the village bloom! 🌞

We can’t wait to see what dizzy heights we reach next year, so keep those seeds handy and your measuring tape ready!
