We still have some spaces available on our Combined Emergency First Aid at Work & Emergency Paediatric First Aid Course (£60pp).

🌞 Summer Funding Now Open – East Lothian 🌞
Applications are now open for the Active & Nourished East Lothian Fund, supporting holiday and summer provision across East Lothian.

They are inviting applications from community groups, third sector organisations, sports clubs and partnerships to deliver:

✅ Activities for children & young people (ages 5–18)
✅ Support for families experiencing poverty
✅ Inclusive, safe and high‑quality provision
✅ Clear pathways beyond the summer period

📍 Priority area:
An initial allocation of funding is ring‑fenced for the West of East Lothian, with further opportunities available across the county (subject to funding).
💰 Funding requests should be proportionate to your project and activity plans.

📌 Deadline: 15 May 2026 at 5.00pm

🏠 Funding Opportunity: Asda Foundation – Local Community Spaces Fund 🏠

The Asda Foundation Local Community Spaces Fund is now open and offers grants of £10,000–£20,000 to help community organisations repair, renovate, or improve local spaces that bring people together and support wellbeing.

This fund focuses on supporting spaces that sit at the heart of communities and help tackle issues such as isolation and loneliness.

💷 What can the funding be used for?
Grants can support projects that:
✅ Carry out essential repairs or maintenance (e.g. boiler replacement, roof or window repairs, refurbishments)
✅ Improve or adapt spaces to better meet community needs
✅ Make buildings more accessible or fit for purpose
✅ Help community facilities continue delivering vital activities and services

👥 Who can apply? Eligible organisations must:
▪️ Be a registered Charity, Community Interest Company (CIC) or Community Benefit Society
▪️ Be registered with the relevant regulator for at least 3 years
▪️ Have an annual income between £40,000 and £400,000
▪️ Own the building or hold a lease with at least 3 years remaining
▪️ Operate a space that is open and accessible year‑round

📆 Key Dates
🟢 Applications open: 14 April
🔴 Deadline: 28 April (10am)
⚠️ Applications may close early if demand is high or regions become oversubscribed.

🎯 Funding priorities
Priority is given to community centres, hubs and facilities that:
• Host a range of groups and activities

🌱 Funding Opportunity – Action Earth Grants 2026 🌱

Volunteering Matters is offering Action Earth Grants of £50–£250 to support volunteer‑led projects that improve urban green spaces and benefit the environment.

This funding could be suitable for a range of East Lothian community organisations, if the application focuses on environmental improvement, such as biodiversity, habitat creation, or planting native species. Organisations that may be well placed to apply include:

✅Community councils and development trusts
✅Environmental and climate action groups
✅Friends of parks or greenspace volunteer groups
✅Play, youth, and family organisations (where the project outcome is environmental)
✅Uniformed youth groups (e.g. Scouts, Guides)
Community‑based sports or activity groups with a greenspace focus

Projects should:
✔️ Be volunteer‑led (minimum 15 volunteers)
✔️ Take place in publicly accessible urban green spaces
✔️ Deliver a clear environmental outcome (e.g. planting, habitat creation, greenspace enhancement)
