Brian, Katie and Graham from our Regional Command Team visited our colleagues at Lagan Search & Rescue in Belfast Harbour tonight to discuss co-operation on future public safety events.

A really useful opportunity to network with another vital voluntary community service and improve what we do to protect our community.

Today, some of our cadets and youth leaders provided medical cover at the finish line of the Belfast Marathon.

A busy shift supporting runners as they came through, with our cadets putting their training into practice in a real environment. It’s a great example of how we don’t just teach these skills, we give young people the opportunity to use them, build confidence and work as part of a team.

What a night! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support our quiz night, bought tickets, and took part in the ballot. Your support means so much to our unit.

We would also like to give a special thank you to the local businesses and individuals who kindly donated prizes for our ballot. Your generosity helped make the night such a success.

We’re incredibly proud to share that together we raised £1,241! 💚

This money will go directly back into our cadet unit, helping us purchase new equipment and resources to make training and learning even better for our young people.

Thank you for supporting our cadets and the work we do in the community. 🚑👏

Our cadets have been busy since the new year! 🚑
We’ve kicked off the Grand Prior Award in Health & Medicine 🩺 and have been very lucky to welcome some fantastic guest speakers who shared insight into their roles and how we can keep ourselves healthy and well 💙

So far, we’ve heard from:

🧸 Rachel – Paediatric Nurse specialising in diabetes
🚨 Chris – Dual registered Nurse & Paramedic
🧠 Ruairaidh – Mental Health Nurse

A huge thank you to all our speakers for giving up their time and inspiring our cadets 👏✨

We’re really looking forward to welcoming all our cadets back tomorrow after the Christmas break 🎄

During the holidays, our Ards Cadets completed their first official duty at the Ulster Rugby game on 2nd January 🏉
It was a fantastic learning experience – we got to see round one of the ambulances and even use the radios! 🚑📻
A great match, a bit of snow ❄️, and some dinky donuts to keep us warm 🍩

We’re so proud of how well our cadets represented St John and can’t wait to build on this as we head into the new term.
