We have been working behind the scenes on something we truly believe could make a real difference to communities across Northern Ireland.

For us, this is personal. David was failed, and we do not want another family to have to endure the pain and heartbreak that ours has experienced. We cannot change what happened to David, but we can do everything within our power to try to make a difference for others.

We believe that every community deserves access to lifesaving equipment when it matters most.
One of the issues we have been looking into is the accessibility, maintenance and availability of public access defibrillators across Northern Ireland.
Having a defibrillator installed is only part of the picture. It is vital that these devices are properly maintained, regularly checked, accurately registered and accessible when they are needed most.
That is why we have prepared a formal proposal for the Department of Health, calling for a consistent approach across all 11 district councils in Northern Ireland.

Our proposal calls for:

❤️ Regular audits of council-owned defibrillators.

❤️ Proper maintenance and routine checks to help ensure equipment is ready for use.

❤️ Accurate registration and up-to-date location information.

❤️ Improved public accessibility, including 24-hour access wherever reasonably practicable.

❤️ Clear accountability and regular reporting to help identify problems and improve standards.

We believe this is an important issue that deserves attention. We need to raise awareness, ask questions and push for positive change. If we can help make lifesaving equipment more accessible and reliable, then we owe it to our communities to try.

Our aim is simple: to help ensure that lifesaving equipment is not only installed in our communities, but is working and accessible when every second counts.

We cannot change the past, but we can use our voices to help shape a safer future for others. We hope that by raising this issue, we can encourage meaningful action and help prevent other families from experiencing the heartbreak that ours has endured.

This 24/7 cabinet and defibrillator was installed on 23rd April 2026. In just under six months of being available and registered on The Circuit, we have received 13 notifications last one being this afternoon advising that the access code has been given out in an emergency and the defibrillator accessed.

This is exactly why we continue to do what we do. ❤️

We hope and pray that no other family ever has to suffer the pain we have endured. David wasn’t given the chance of survival, but I pray that another person in need will be. 🙏❤️

I sincerely hope everyone involved in these emergencies is okay and that those affected make a full recovery.

Every second counts. Every defibrillator matters. Every life matters.

WE WON ❤️🏆

I’m struggling to put into words how thankful I am to each and every person who has supported us and helped make this possible.
Today, we came up against some truly amazing people, all of whom deserved to be winners. To be standing here now is something I will never take for granted.
I want to personally thank our three amazing, beautiful children, Kailey, Jessica and Jacob. Their worlds have been turned upside down, yet they continue to think of others and show such incredible strength and kindness. I couldn’t be prouder of them.

A huge thank you to both my family and David’s family, and to all of our incredible friends who have stood beside us, supported us and carried us through the hardest of times.

And a massive thank you to Mark Bailey at MKB Medical. Without your support, this would not have been possible, and we will be forever grateful. ❤️

We will continue to do everything we can to help as many communities and families as possible, while praying that no other family ever has to experience the pain we have.

Most importantly, I will continue to keep David’s memory alive and his legacy going. Everything we do is to make sure he is never forgotten.
