7th Heaven Animal Rescue Trust

7th Heaven Animal Rescue Trust Rescuing, caring for and rehoming domestic animals Below are some of the reasons that we believe make us different from other animal charities:

1.

We do not charge for our animals
As our motto states, “Animals are not commodities to be bought or sold. They are beautiful creatures with beautiful souls”. We are not their ‘owners’ merely their ‘guardians’ and, therefore, have no moral right to put a price tag on their head. This is why we do not and never will charge for our animals.

2. We have no paid staff
We will make no personal profit fr

om an animal’s misery which is why nobody involved in our charity gets paid.

3. We prefer the natural approach
We will endeavour to use only natural treatments for our animals and avoid pharmaceutical drugs, with their dangerous side effects, wherever possible

4. We are opposed to early neutering
We are against early neutering due to the medical and behavioural problems associated with this new trend and also because it is being done more for the convenience of us humans, than the welfare of the animal.

5. We do not abort kittens
We are opposed to aborting kittens when a mother is found to be pregnant during spaying. It is considered by some people to be more convenient, particularly when dealing with ferals, to terminate the pregnancy. We insist, the operation is postponed until the mother has weaned her kittens. We will then try to rehome the mother and her offspring.

6. We provide help with feral cats
Although we are only set up to deal with domestic animals, under our Project Wildcat, we will provide free kennels to people who have feral cats on their property. We will also help with the cost of neutering, when the funds are available.

7. We are opposed to compulsory microchipping
We are totally opposed to microchipping animals. It is an unnecessary medical procedure with no benefits whatsoever but can have serious adverse side effects. We therefore believe it is unethical.
8. We try to avoid a kennel environment for our dogs
As we believe the best place for an animal is not in a sanctuary, but in a home, our dogs will, for the most part, be kept with fosterers. This means they can have more interaction time with humans to reduce the levels of stress associated with being in a kennel environment.

9. We offer a unique Home to Home service
A lot of charities concentrate on taking in dogs from Council Pounds. We prefer that the dogs don’t go to the Pound in the first place, particularly since some councils are now charging to take in unwanted dogs. We will therefore be trying to get dogs homed directly from one home to another. To do this we are offering our ‘Made in Heaven, Match-Making Service’ We will maintain a database of people who need their dogs re-homed and also people that want a particular type of dog and endeavour to match them up. This service is free.

10. We have set up an animal food bank
In these times of austerity, many people are struggling financially and food banks have been established to help them, but unfortunately not their animals. We are trying to address this by setting up a food bank for animals. We are offering our support by supplying pet food, free of charge, to those most in need whenever we have excess supplies. We hope this will encourage them to keep their beloved pets at home where they belong.

A huge thank you to the anonymous person(s) who sent us pet food through Amazon this week.
Thank you so much — your kindness Every donation, big or small, helps us support local families who are struggling and want to keep their pets at home where they belong, as well as those feeding feral cats who rely on us for regular support.
Quiet acts of compassion like this make a real difference.

This new batch of cat supplies will be used to help keep Casper, one of our long‑term rescue cats who depends on us for specialist care.
This gentle boy lives with FIV and severe IBS, so he needs ongoing vet support, a strict diet, and lots of comfort while we keep him feeling his best.

We’re always grateful for donations of sheets to help keep his space clean and cosy. If you have any spares, they’re a huge help to him and the other long‑term cats in our care.

Thank you for supporting the ones who need that little bit extra.

💛 Thank You, Northern Ireland Veterinary Specialists Hillsborough — Joanna McCagherty, Ellen & the amazing nursing team

We want to express our deepest gratitude to Northern Ireland Veterinary Specialists for the outstanding care given to Cosmo - the only specialists in Northern Ireland who had been able to perform this life saving operation.
From the moment Ellen helped us secure a speedy consultation and operation, through Joanna McCagherty’s critical surgery and the nurses’ dedicated care, your compassion and expertise have been extraordinary.
Cosmo was in a critical condition with a liver shunt and recurring stones — so ill, distressed, and without quality of life. We've been so worried about him as his future looked bleak. Thanks to your swift action and skill, he’s now made an amazing recovery, gained over 1.1 kg. He is back to his mad, energetic self, but we still have some way to go with his ‘adhd’ behaviour quirks. He’s an extremely loving dog, but he does have some long term traits- hours of tugging for attention, high speed zoomies, and energy levels that defy physics that keep us on our toes.
He simply would not have made it without you. Your teamwork, kindness, and commitment have given him a second and only chance — and we are forever grateful.
Thank you for everything you do. Here’s some pictures of him just before the op, just after & now.

A huge thank you to Susan Heaven, her niece and her daughter, who raised £100 for 7th Heaven Animal Rescue Trust at the Merry May Day Festival in Holywood on 4/5/26.

Your kindness, energy and generosity mean so much. Every pound helps us care for animals who need support, and your fundraising has made a real difference.

Thank you for giving your time and heart to help them. We’re so grateful.

🐰 Meet Sonic & Fudge – A Beautiful Rabbits Seeking a Loving Home
Sonic (3 years, double‑mane lionhead female) and Fudge (2 years, Holland Lop, male) are a wonderful bonded pair looking for a new home where they can continue to thrive. They currently free‑roam outdoors with indoor access and are both fully litter trained.

Sonic is a gentle, placid girl who enjoys a calm environment and a predictable routine.
Fudge is the more outgoing of the two — playful, affectionate, and full of character.

Both rabbits are neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, and they are well used to a home environment.

Their owner is making the responsible decision to rehome them due to personal health circumstances that make it difficult to maintain the level of care and consistency they deserve.

If you can offer this lovely pair a stable, loving home, please email us to [email protected] letting us know the following to see if they would suit you:
Do you have any other pets?
Have you had rabbits before?
Do you have any young children? If so what are their age(s)?
Where would they be kept? (if possible send a picture of this)
Do you have somewhere secure to let them out?
Does anyone in the household have any allergies?
Please provide your contact details
They are being rehomed through our Matchmaking Service, home to home. Home check will be carried out.
