🎶 It’s tomorrow! 🎶

Don’t forget that Sturminster Choral Society are holding their Spring Concert tomorrow evening, Saturday 9th May, at St Mary’s Church, Sturminster Newton.

Join us for a beautiful evening of choral music as we perform two stunning works:
✨ Rossini’s Stabat Mater
✨ Schubert’s Mass in G

We are honoured to be accompanied by some fabulous guest soloists this year:
Anna Gregory, Charlotte Collier, Robert Forrest and Geoff Horton.

Under the direction of Annemarie Lees, this promises to be a moving and memorable concert in the lovely setting of St Mary’s Church.

If you are interested in finding out about your local choral society - drop by and say hi. We are always open to welcoming new members - no audition required, just enthusiasm! Come meet us at the The Exchange, Sturminster Newton on Saturday to find out more.

Whether you’re new to Sturminster Newton or you’ve seen many shows here across the years, you will likely have an image in your mind as to what you think goes on at The Exchange, but is that image entirely correct? The Exchange Open Day is the perfect opportunity to find out and perhaps learn something new too.

It takes more than just The Exchange team to make all the things that go on here happen. Peek behind the renowned golden curtains with us as we shine a light on the names and faces of the groups and people who make The Exchange the vibrant, warm, community space it has come to be known as.

Be wowed by demonstrations by locally run groups, listen to live music in the café while you enjoy a half price coffee and marvel at the creativity of our volunteer technicians. Maybe learn a little more about the history of the building while you’re here too.

We believe The Exchange is the place for everyone, whether you’re looking to join a new group, to see the parts of the building you do not normally get to see, or maybe we can tempt you to into becoming a volunteer, we would love to see you at The Exchange Open Day.

If you are interested in singing and want to give our choir a go - come along to the Exchange on Monday 26 January at 7pm. We’ve only just started the term and you are welcome to come along and give it a go.

Reliving our Christmas carol concert back in early December and what a beautiful experience it was to be a part of.

As we approach the start of a new year, are you thinking about those new year resolutions? Have you always wanted to join a choir but always put it off or felt too hesitant to give it a go?

Our society is super friendly, no auditions and welcomes all.

The festive season was well and truly kicked off in style yesterday by Make Stur Sparkle! We were delighted to contribute by singing some carols at St Mary’s Church as part of the Lantern Parade. And what a fantastic Christmas Tree Festival. Well worth a visit. Congratulations to all involved in putting on the series of events across the day. 🎉
