Make warm referrals to specialist services and work closely with partners across health, social care, and the voluntary sector.
Support carers to build longer-term resilience and reduce reliance on crisis support.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to monitoring and reporting requirements.

Experienced in supporting vulnerable individuals or communities.
Knowledgeable about financial hardship, welfare benefits, or advice services.
Confident in carrying out assessments and making sound decisions.
A strong communicator who can build trust and positive relationships.

Wonderful to welcome Chief Executive of Durham County Carers, Jenni, to Redhills today. We had a catch up about all things carers, the work that her organisation has been carrying out and of course the ‘Commitment to Unpaid Carers’ regional pledge which I was only too glad to sign.

As a former carer myself, I know firsthand the challenges that carers can face every single day (and night!) and it was my honour to be the first MP in Jenni’s patch to pledge my support.

If you’re a carer in County Durham and need some support or advice, don’t hesitate to check out the below website. The lovely team will be only too pleased to advise if they can.
