A very Happy New Year from Haytor Vale WI! 🎉

We all had a wonderful festive period and took part in a wreath making afternoon hosted by committee members Chris & Jess 🎄✨

Today Haytor Vale WI celebrated the season with a members Christmas lunch, complete with lots of festive fun including a very impressive raffle, secret Santa exchange, a committee play and a beautiful 3 course meal at Bovey Tracey Golf Club 🍽️🎄🎅🏼🎁

A huge thank you to all our members for making it such a brilliant afternoon and a special thanks to the Haytor Vale WI committee for organising ✨

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year 🎉

To our wonderful membership - I have so enjoyed seeing the WI Day joy, sisterhood, and celebrations being shared online today, and all the wonderful activities taking place; from local parties right through to the special content hosted our own Learning Hub. It's had the Board and I with brimming with pride to know how important being a member of the WI feels to each of you, every reason for joining and staying an active member is a little different, and every experience unique. Yet the shared sense of being part of a movement now 110 years old - alive and thriving - runs through each post and party across England, Wales and the Islands today.

So happy birthday to the WI, and long may we continue to be a lodestar for friendship and getting things done! Thank you for everything.

Today some of the Haytor Vale WI members visited RHS Garden Rosemoor 🪴🌹🌳 it was a lovely day out exploring the gardens, learning about plants and landscaping techniques and trying some of the produce grown onsite, in The Garden Restaurant 🍽️

To celebrate our upcoming 110 year Birthday next week, we're holding a Talk on The WI at 110 Years – The Story of a Movement for Women on the WI Learning Hub

Since 1915 the WI has inspired women from all over England, Wales and The Islands to be active citizens who care about their local, national and global communities and who want to enhance the lives of women and girls everywhere. As one of the oldest and largest women's organisations the WI has been a change maker on issues that impact on the everyday lives of women and their families and are recognised as a force of nature in our society, and an important women's movement.

This webinar will celebrate WI Day 2025 by looking at the history of the organisation, showcasing its legacy and thinking about how it has transformed the lives of women over the past 110 years.

🦷 🧵🪡 Huge well done to everyone who donated and hand made dental health wash bags as featured in The WI (National Federation of Women's Institutes) ✨

Our wonderful Haytor Vale member Janice put forward the initiative for us to donate to a local shelter for those in need to benefit from access to dental packs 🙌🏼

Our August speaker was the brilliant Lynda Kettle who gave an inspiring talk about the fascinating world of theatre set design and television 📺

Haytor Vale WI members enjoyed an insight into what happens beyond the stage and screen and learned all about the world of set design 🎭🎨
