📣📣 Funding opportunity for Accessible Music in Belfast!

The Sounds Atypical Music Grant Scheme is opportunity for musicians to develop, promote and provide platforms for accessible music projects in performance spaces across Belfast.

The scheme by University of Atypical for Arts and Disability
and funded by Belfast City Council is currently open and applications closes: on Thursday 12 February 2026 at 4:00pm

Are you a musician and interested in creating more accessible and disabled-led music events in Belfast?

Sounds Atypical Music Awards Two is currently open. Funded by Belfast City Council these music awards are for disabled led music events to take place in Belfast City Council regions in 2026.

You can apply for between £1,000 and £5,000 (rounded up to the nearest £500).
You can also apply for access costs. These costs are in addition to your main budget.

Application Closes: Thursday 12 February 2026 at 4:00pm

As we wrap up a busy year and welcome a brand new season at Drake Music NI, we’re reflecting on an incredible journey. From taking the country by storm with collaborations and jams alongside Ed Sheeran and , to celebrating our community impact at Windsor Castle following an invitation from King Charles, it’s been a year to remember. We brought our voices to Stormont to advocate for inclusive legislation, delivered hundreds of workshops across Ireland, formed new partnerships, and strengthened long-standing ones.

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who supported us through workshops, collaborations, research, media coverage and generous donations.
