Young at Heart
Each Thursday morning, bright and clear,
A friendly group gathers year by year.
We call ourselves Young at Heart,
A cheerful club where friendships start.
We kick things off with a chat and tea,
A cuppa shared in good company,
With cake to tempt and laughter wide,
And stories told from every side.
Then comes the quiz to test the brain,
A little fun, a friendly game,
No matter the score, we always say,
It’s the joy that counts along the way.
We stretch, we move, keep bodies fit,
With gentle classes bit by bit,
Play games that bring out smiles so bright,
And keep our spirits feeling light.
Some days we craft, create, and make,
With paints and threads, things we take,
Other times a guest will come to share
Stories, knowledge, with thoughtful care.
Two hours pass before we know,
In easy rhythm, soft and slow,
Everyone leaves with hearts aglow,
Kindness shared and laughter’s flow.
Though many there have silver hair,
There’s youthful energy in the air,
But we’d love more to join our crew,
There’s always room for someone new.
So if you’re free on Thursday morn,
Come see the joy that can be born,
At Young at Heart, you’ll find your place,
Among warm hearts and a friendly face.
