Huge thanks to everyone who supported and took part in the Will Page 10K on Sunday. Congratulations to Emily Hague who put in so much work to make it happen - and then completed the run too!

The event was a huge success and great to see it back in the village. Watch this space for more news on next year’s event. Let us know what other runs and events you’d like to see in the future as we plan for 2027!

📣 Newick Sports Pavilion – Availability for Hire 📣

The Newick Sports Pavilion is the home of Newick’s football, cricket, rugby, and stoolball clubs. These clubs play in local leagues and train throughout the year, so the pavilion is primarily in regular use for sporting activities. However, the venue is also now available for private hire when it is not in use by one of the resident sports clubs.

For the majority of the year, availability is Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm. However, if you need something different, please let us know, and we will help if we can.

The facility offers:

📺 A large screen, and flexible furniture options, suitable for presentations and meetings
🧑‍🍳A fully equipped kitchen
🏠 A flexible indoor space ideal for a range of activities (capacity varies depending on use)
☀️ Outdoor patio with tables and chairs

As well as one-off events, the pavilion is particularly well-suited for regular use by:

- Children’s clubs and activities
- Hobby, fitness, or community groups
- Business meetings or small workshops

**EDIT: event cancelled due to lack of teams** 4/6/26

There are still spaces left for teams to get involved in the village stoolball tournament on Sunday 7th June.

All local families, societies, clubs, pubs, groups, businesses, roads and any team you can rustle up are all welcome 🤗

The tournament has been running for 30+ years and we’d love to get it back after a year out of the pavilion.

The clubhouse and bar will be open and serving hot and cold drinks as well as homemade cakes and sandwiches 🍻🍰

If you don’t have a full team let us know and we will match you up with others who are looking to join in. ⚾️

The Sports Pavilion will be open on Easter Monday between 10am-2pm for teas, coffee, soft drinks, and snacks, including sweet bags and ice lollies.

Whether you are heading out on a walk or spending time in the play park, pop in for some refreshments and to see the newly refurbished building.

Just 6 days to go! It's the race to the finish now for the opening preparations of our new Sports Pavilion.

Join us on Saturday 14th March to celebrate a new beginning for all the sports clubs and a brilliant new sports venue for the village.

⭐️ 10am start for the Parish Council grand opening ⭐️

All are welcome. We will be selling hot and cold drinks, cakes and snacks.

The Bar will be open, and Six Nations Super Saturday rugby matches will be showing on the big screen all day. 🍻

We also expect to have football and rugby matches on, depending on weather

Great news from Newick FC…

🏡 Newick FC Are Home All January!

After months on the road, we’re finally back at the newly refurbished Newick Pavilion — and not just for this weekend. Every fixture in January is at home, so it’s the perfect time to come down, support the lads, and enjoy the new pavilion.

Starts this weekend as we host Montpelier Villa AFC.

*Please note the social side of the pavilion is undergoing final works and won’t be open yet, (these will officially open on the 14th March) but changing facilities for the teams will now be in use. So bring a flask and cheer on the boys back on home ground 👏

The Christmas Tree festival is open with some wonderful creations, and we were delighted to share a different kind of ‘tree’ this year!

Now we can’t wait to be back at the pavilion playing home games as soon as we can in the new year.

As well as ribbon cutting and celebrations, the day will include the postponed New Year’s Day Rugby Memorial match.
