The announcement you’ve all been waiting for! 👀

That’s right! We are launching our very own q***r book club over at the wonderfully q***r-owned .

The Friends of Dorothy book club will take place on the last Sunday of the month from 15:30 - 17:00. Your Sundays are about to get way more wholesome! 🫶

For our first book club, we are asking members to come along with a q***r book in mind that they love. We will discuss as a group and then choose our first read together for the month of June! 📚

Spaces are limited, so please do book a space to avoid disappointment! Visit the link in our bio.

If you can’t make it in person, but still want to get in on all the goodness, we will also have a WhatsApp group. Visit the link in our bio for access to this too!

FIRST BOOK CLUB: Sunday 31st May 2026, 15:30 - 17:00 at Brew & Bind.

Le***an Visibility Week matters because representation saves lives.

Because seeing someone like you can be the difference between hiding and feeling proud. Because our stories deserve space, our love deserves recognition, and our voices deserve to be heard.

As we near the end of Le***an Visibility Week, we continue to send you love, and will continue to celebrate our beautifully diverse community that makes our world so much brighter.

Words by Qu**rs of the North Co-Founder, Sophie Rose. 🧡

That’s right! We are back with our weekly question: what does community mean to you? 👀

“Community to me means a space to be openly creative and passionate” are the words of none other than Zombie Hart. 🧟‍♀️

Born out of Newcastle Uni Drag Society, and becoming a regular performer at the iconic Open Drag Night, Zombie has truly been immersing themselves into creative spaces to express their art. They are living by the exact words they shared with us, and we can’t wait to see more!

If you’d like to see Zombie in action for yourself, you’ll be able to catch them at the Student vs Queens Lip Sync Smackdown tomorrow (23rd April).

What does community mean to you? 👀

Mwelwa Chilekwa, a spoken word artist who kindly shared her beautiful words with us at our most recent After Hours event, told us that:

“Community to me is the spark that sets love alight.” she shared.

Mwelwa is doing some amazing work bringing communities together in her own time too, running monthly Open Mic Nights at and is always looking for q***r talent to get involved.

Get in touch with her to find out more! 🧡
