🎉 Thanks to National Lottery players, Family Mental Fitness North East CIC has been awarded £15,282 from .

We’re delighted to share that this funding will enable us to launch Connected Families, a free community wellbeing programme for families with children aged 2–8 years, delivered from our community yurt in the grounds of .

As The Lighthouse Project’s therapeutic partner, we’re incredibly grateful to be based within such a welcoming community space, where families can access support in a calm, unique environment.

Launching this autumn, Connected Families will bring families together through stories, play, nature and shared experiences, creating opportunities to connect, strengthen relationships and support children’s emotional wellbeing before problems escalate.

We’re also excited to be working alongside the , with every session beginning with a shared story before families enjoy seasonal activities inspired by books and the world around them.

This award is a huge milestone for our small community interest company, and we couldn’t have achieved it without the encouragement and support of our partners and local community.

Most importantly, thank you to National Lottery players. Every ticket played helps make projects like this possible, creating opportunities for local families to connect and thrive.

We’ll be sharing more over the coming weeks as we prepare to welcome families this autumn.

🎨✨ The Yurt was buzzing with creativity today as we welcomed our very first Creative Studio session!

With shelves full of art materials to choose from, children were free to explore, experiment and express themselves in their own unique way.

There was painting, drawing, making, chatting, imagining and lots of creativity—without pressure or expectations. Just a calm, welcoming space where children could be themselves and enjoy the process.

This is exactly what our Creative Studio is all about: giving children the freedom to create, build confidence, make connections and have fun.

We’re so excited to see this new project grow! 💙

It was great to welcome a mix of dads, grandads and big brothers today for an hour of LEGO building, pizza and quality time together.

Families worked side by side, tackled building challenges, got creative and, most importantly, spent time connecting with one another.
