We're delighted to have reached our target for the Big Give!

Together we have raised a transformational £50,000 which will offer more families community, friendship and hope.

One friendship can change a family's future. Now that can be a reality for more families, enabling more children to grow up in stable, nurturing homes where they can flourish 💚

We are so grateful to our generous donors, the matched funding from The Childhood Trust Trust and of course Big Give for coming together to reach our goal.

We are delighted to announce that our Co-Chief Executive Officer Tarn (Tania) Bright, has been awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in recognition of her outstanding services to vulnerable children and families.

Tarn shares: “It’s really humbling receiving this MBE. While this recognition has my name on it, it truly reflects the dedication of the extraordinary teams, volunteers, and relentlessly committed carers I’ve been privileged to work alongside for the last twenty years.

"My journey from the corporate world into the charity sector was driven by a belief that every child and young person deserves a safe, loving space to flourish. To see that work recognised in this way is profoundly moving, but the real reward remains the families strengthened and the children who are given a fighting chance to reach their potential. There is still so much more to do, and I remain as committed as ever to this vital cause."

The Government’s Enduring Relationships paper sets out a vision for ensuring care-experienced children and young people have lasting, trusted relationships into adulthood. Here are the key takeaways:

1️⃣ A commitment to treat relationships as a core outcome of care, including plans to trial a national measure of whether children and young people have lasting connections in their lives.

2️⃣ A shift towards helping care-experienced young people achieve “interdependent living” rather than focusing solely on independence.

3️⃣ The exploration of lifelong relationship ceremonies to recognise and celebrate the relationships that continue long after a young person leaves care.

4️⃣ Supported lodgings was recognised as a key way to help care-experienced young people maintain lasting relationships with caring adults as they move into adulthood.

We're seeking a relational and passionate Family Support Manager in Lancashire 🌟

In this role, you will play your part in seeing children and families flourish by:

➡️ Matching and introducing volunteers to families, providing them with on-going mentoring and support
➡️ Developing partnerships within the Local Authority, churches, community groups and other services to ensure that families can access appropriate local support.

If you have experience of working with children, families or those in vulnerable situations, and knowledge of safeguarding principles and processes, this role could be for you!
