🔥🌭 What a fantastic day at our Allotment Social! 🌽🍔 Today we fired up the barbecue and tucked into delicious burgers, hot dogs and some very special home-grown treats! Fresh from our own allotment, we grilled courgettes, runner beans and even green tomatoes... and they were absolutely delicious! 🌱💚
After filling our plates, we enjoyed a wander around the allotment, picked some juicy blackberries and checked in on our pumpkins, which are getting bigger every week. 🎃🫐 There’s something really special about sharing good food, good company and watching everything we've grown together flourish. Roll on the next allotment adventure! 🌻💚

🎨🌈 Our creativity is heading to the Civic Centre! 🌈🎨
Remember those colourful community banners we helped create with the brilliant artist Nicola. Well, we're excited to share that our banner will be proudly displayed in the Civic Centre Gallery this weekend as part of the NOVUM Summer Festival! 🥳

If you're heading into Newcastle from Friday to Sunday, why not pop along and see if you can spot our artwork? 🎬✨ Lights, camera... background action! ✨🎬 What a fantastic day we had at the beautiful Sunderland Empire Theatre, where some of our amazing group got to be film extras in the upcoming feature film Dance of the Macaroni Flowers! 🎭🎥 From stepping onto a real film set to soaking up the atmosphere behind the scenes, it was an unforgettable experience and another brilliant opportunity to try something completely new. We can't wait to spot ourselves on the big screen when the film is released next year! 👀🍿
A huge thank you to everyone involved for making us feel so welcome. Keep your eyes peeled for Dance of the Macaroni Flowers when it arrives in cinemas next year... you might just recognise a few familiar faces! 🌟

🎉🍰 Slice Slice Baby was an absolute hit! 🍰🎉
Who says you can't have your cake and dance to it too? 💃🕺Today's neurodiverse-friendly disco was packed with brilliant music, glowing UV party hats, plenty of delicious cake, and even more laughter. It was fantastic to see so many people from Head Office popping down to join in the fun and celebrate with us.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it such a welcoming, inclusive morning. Same time next month? We think so! 🎶💜

🥒💚 From allotment to dinner table! A huge thank you to Ann and Maura, who transformed some of our freshly harvested allotment courgettes into this absolutely delicious garlic and herb bake topped with melted Cheddar cheese. 😋
It's so rewarding to see the vegetables we've grown together being turned into tasty homemade meals. Growing fresh produce is one thing, but sharing recipes and inspiring each other in the kitchen is what makes our community allotment so special.
If you've got a few courgettes to use up, here's Ann and Maura's recipe!
🧄 Garlic & Herb Roasted Courgettes
Ingredients 🥒 2–3 medium courgettes, sliced 🫒 2 tbsp olive oil (or melted garlic butter) 🧄 2 cloves garlic, crushed 🌿 1 tsp mixed herbs 🧂 Salt and black pepper 🧀 A handful of grated mature Cheddar cheese
Method
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Spread the sliced courgettes on a baking tray.
Drizzle with the olive oil (or garlic butter).
Sprinkle over the garlic, mixed herbs, salt and pepper.
Top with the grated Cheddar.
Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the courgettes are tender and the cheese is golden and bubbling.
It looks absolutely amazing – we might have to grow even more courgettes next year! 🌱🥒❤️

🌱🐞🐝 Another fantastic Wednesday at the allotment! What a lovely afternoon we've had enjoying the great outdoors together. Today's harvest included some beautiful courgettes and plenty of juicy blackberries, while our colourful ladybird and bumblebee pebbles found their new homes brightening up the allotment. 🪨✨
We also took a stroll around to see how everything is growing, and we're delighted to report that our pumpkins are getting bigger every week and our apples are coming along nicely too! 🎃🍎
There's something really special about watching the allotment change with the seasons, especially when everyone plays a part in helping it grow. We can't wait to see what we'll be harvesting next! 💚

🎬 Lights, camera... action! What an incredible day! 🤩 Today we had the amazing opportunity to go behind the scenes on the set of a new film being made in Newcastle about a person with learning disabilities. It was fascinating to see how much work goes into bringing a story to life.
We watched the actors in action, explored the incredible camera equipment, met members of the production team and discovered some of the movie magic that happens behind the scenes. There were plenty of smiles, lots of questions and a real sense of excitement throughout the visit.
A huge thank you to everyone who made us feel so welcome and gave us such a memorable experience. We can't wait to see the finished film on the big screen! 🎥✨
